Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

A private equity-backed healthcare technology SaaS company is hiring a CFO to own the finance function end-to-end and help shape the next stage of the business. The company provides claims pricing and contract management software for payers and providers, and its current sales motion is centered on products launched within the past two years—creating a meaningful opportunity to influence pricing strategy, unit economics, reporting cadence, and operating decisions from the finance seat.

This is a first-CFO-style opportunity: you’ll step into a finance operation that is already functioning well, with fractional controller, bookkeeping, and AP/AR support in place, two completed audits, and prior acquisition and debt-financing work already executed. From there, you’ll take full ownership strategically and operationally, reporting to the President & Co-Chairman and working closely with company leadership, the board, lenders, and the private equity sponsor.

Compensation, Location, and Work Model

  • TOTAL ANNUAL CASH: $200,000–$250,000
  • Equity: 0.25%–0.60% equity grant
  • Location: United States-based required; Greater Philadelphia / Delaware area preferred
  • Work model: 80%+ remote flexibility, with occasional office access helpful

What You’ll Own

  • Own the company’s three-statement model, budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for the board, investors, lenders, and leadership team, including KPI dashboards and clear financial narratives.
  • Partner with the fractional controller on month-end close, GAAP-compliant financial statements, internal controls, and scalable accounting processes.
  • Manage liquidity planning, cash movement, banking relationships, debt facilities, and covenant-related reporting with support from the existing team.
  • Lead finance-driven work around pricing strategy, renewal economics, customer/product unit economics, retention, and P&L improvement.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the President & Co-Chairman and CEO & Co-Chairman on operating plans, pricing, margins, commercial decisions, and growth priorities.
  • Support commercial contract review, vendor negotiations, and customer-facing finance work when it helps improve business outcomes.
  • Maintain transaction readiness and support financial diligence, valuation, and deal structuring if strategic opportunities arise.
  • Build, mentor, and scale finance resources over time where there is a clear business case—without assuming immediate team expansion.

What You Bring

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or Big 4 audit/assurance.
  • 2+ years of finance experience in private equity, venture capital, or a senior finance role at a software/SaaS company.
  • Hands-on finance experience in an investor-backed software environment; PE-backed and VC-backed contexts are both relevant.
  • Strong command of software finance metrics, GAAP reporting, deferred revenue, recognized revenue vs. billed cash, recurring revenue definitions, retention, and product/customer unit economics.
  • Ability to own core FP&A, reporting, cash management, and accounting oversight while partnering effectively with an existing controller and support team.
  • Executive-level communication skills and the financial fluency to work with company leadership, investors, lenders, and board stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred / Helpful

  • Healthcare technology, payer/provider, claims pricing, contract management, or revenue cycle experience.
  • Pricing, renewal, account management, or customer-facing finance project exposure; participation is valuable even if you were not the end-to-end owner.
  • Debt facility, lender reporting, or covenant management experience.
  • M&A, diligence, valuation, or transaction-readiness experience.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA.
  • Greater Philadelphia / Delaware-area location or practical access to the office when needed.

Who This Role Fits

You may be a Director of Finance, VP of Finance, Head of Finance, or current CFO. Prior CFO title is not required. What matters is that you have owned meaningful finance workstreams in an investor-backed software business and are ready to take full accountability for the finance function.

This role is especially well-suited to someone who wants more than a reporting seat: you’ll have room to improve pricing, renewals, margins, forecasting, financial visibility, and operating discipline across the business while working directly with leadership and the sponsor.

At Urrly, fairness matters. We use AI to review every application against the same clear requirements for the role. Candidates are evaluated only on job-related factors such as skills, certifications, and experience, not personal attributes.
