Job Summary:Â
Under minimal supervision, teaches at least four sections of Upper School math. Works collaboratively and cooperatively with other members of the Upper School faculty and staff. Supports instruction of Winter Intensive Math course in January 2027 with assigned teacher. Â

Specific Responsibilities:Â
Teaches 4 sections of Upper School math, including 2 sections of Algebra II and 2 sections of Calculus 2Â
Co-teaches 1 section of Upper School Algebra II during a 3-week intensive course with another teacher Â
Uses formative teaching and assessment methodsÂ
Establishes and cultivates community relations by maintaining open dialogue with all the school’s constituencies, including students, families and school professionalsÂ
Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s documentsÂ
Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilitiesÂ
Performs other duties as assignedÂ
Qualifications
Â
Required Education & Experience:Â
Bachelor’s degree in Math or a related field from a four-year college or university requiredÂ
Master’s degree in Math or a related field preferredÂ
3+ years of successful teaching experience in an Upper School environment preferredÂ
Â
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Â
Competence in the content area and pedagogy for Upper SchoolÂ
Good understanding of the developmental needs of Upper School studentsÂ
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the students and programÂ
Energy and enthusiasm and ability to hold students and oneself to high expectationsÂ
Excellent verbal and written communication skillsÂ
Ability to work with students from diverse backgroundsÂ
Ability to create an active learning environment that supports understanding, passion, and creativity in studentsÂ
Ability to prepare lessons to appeal to a variety of learning styles, needs and accommodationsÂ
Ability to use formative assessments and strategies in the classroomÂ
Deep interest in being part of a community as a colleague and grade-level team memberÂ
Experience being part of a curricular and co-curricular team preferredÂ
Educational leadership experience (team leader, department head, grade-level coordinator) preferredÂ
Coaching experience at any level preferredÂ
Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of faculty and staffÂ
Ability to work and communicate well with students and their parentsÂ
Ability to maintain confidential informationÂ
Flexibility, maturity, and a sense of humorÂ
Ability to work efficiently in a Microsoft Windows or Mac environment using Office, master common automated systems for record keeping, and learn new technologyÂ
Comfortable with operating Audio/Visual equipmentÂ
Ability and interest in coaching and/or working in our outdoor program is a plusÂ

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary is $66,723 to $121,310 based on education and years of experience.
