POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer of BGCA is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, an implementation of activities at the site, supervising personnel, the care and upkeep of the facility, and community relations. This includes ensuring that all policies and objectives of the organization are fulfilled and that the Club maintains a positive image in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIESincludethefollowing:

  • Overall supervision and organization of programs based on needs and interests of youth, and consistent with the Boys & Girls Club philosophy.
  • Conducts regular evaluations of programs, reviews plans with Program Staff, and solicits input from members.
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises staff and regularly provides feedback and leadership to all staff.
  • Assists in recruitment, training, and supervision for volunteers.
  • Promotes and markets programs and events to members, parents, and community.
  • Fulfills all administrative functions for the Club and provides timely and comprehensive information to the supervisor.
  • Assists in preparation of annual budget and maintains oversight for Club budget.
  • Assures responsible care and maintenance of facility, including periodic inspection and risk management plan for staff.
  • Establishes programs that ensures the health and safety of members, including equipment maintenance instruction for staff and enforcing safety policies.
  • Provides guidance to members and maintains respectful communication with all members, staff, parents, and community.
  • Assures that Boys & Girls Club policies are followed, members are treated equally with regards to discipline and regular recognition is given.
  • Responsible for coordinating (in conjunction with supervisor) and supervising cultural, recreational, and educational activities for the Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria’s youth, including supervising the program participants in locations throughout the community.
  • Must have strong understanding of issues facing Native youth and be able to support youth in navigating challenges and referring to other departments as necessary.
  • Meet for individual and team supervision and effectively collaborate with Education and other departments as it relates to youth activities.
  • Exemplify adult behavior as a role model and mentor to youth and work to enhance the youth’s sense of personal and cultural identity.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality requirements and standards.
  • Maintain professional behavior at all times.
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES:  This position will supervise staff and volunteers.

  • Must demonstrate experience in planning, developing, and implementing activities that provide social enrichment and personal development.
  • Must demonstrate experience in community relationship-building and promotional marketing

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must have High School diploma or GED
  • Must have a Associates degree in: Psychology, Sociology, Education or Liberal Science
  • OR; equivalent combination of education and experience (Equivalent = two (2) year’s direct experience to one (1) year of education).
  • Must have    2   /years ofrelated experience working with youth groups and related issues.
  • Must have    2  /years ofsupervisory experience in highly interactive team setting.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,REGISTRATIONS:

  • Shallpossess avaliddriver'slicense and be insurable by agencies insurance.
  • Must provide or obtain the Servsafe Food Handlers certification upon hire and maintain during employment.  
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and physical.
  • Must pass a pre-employment TB Test. Annual TB risk assessment and symptom review required for ongoing employment.
  • Must provide or obtain CPR & First Aide certification within three (3) months of hire.
  • Must have validJOB RELATEDCertification orLicense:California Mandated Reporter Training Certification within three (3) months of hire.

COMPUTEROPERATIONS

  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

LANGUAGESKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICALSKILLS:

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONINGABILITY:

  • Ability to apply good judgement and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
