Undergraduate and Experienced Associate

Overview

We are hiring for HSG’s Sierras office, which supports our Boston headquarters. The Sierras office is a new extension of HSG; given scale, there is room to shape operations. Strong performers at HSG take on additional responsibility quickly and advancement is driven by contribution rather than tenure.

At HSG, you will be responsible for supporting client initiatives by executing primary-intensive research plans and performing in-depth market & competitive analyses, all while contributing to the overall success and direction of a rapidly growing company. You will be exposed to a broad range of private equity and corporate clients, evaluating businesses across a variety of industries. Compensation consists of salary and substantive bonus program competitive with leading strategy consulting firms. Travel is minimal (less than 5%).

Responsibilities

As an Associate, successful candidates will:

• Drive primary research (the backbone of HSG’s research process) via phone interviews and online surveys

• Synthesize primary research findings with relevant secondary research to inform insights

• Execute market & competitor analyses (MS Excel), leveraging quantitative and qualitative data

• Contribute to client-facing deliverables / reports

• Ultimately, work with a team of consultants to solve Clients’ most pressing questions

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience: This role is open to new graduates or early-career professionals (regardless of direct industry relevance)

• Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic excellence

• Deep strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities

• Strong quantitative and analytic skills

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Strong presentation (PowerPoint) development and writing skills

• Extremely organized and detail oriented

• Proactive self-starter with an intellectual curiosity

• Ability to multitask and work in a time-sensitive (short deadline) environment
