UI/UX Designer โ Mobile & Web Applications
Practice
Experience Design, Avanade India
Location
Bengaluru/NCR, India (Hybrid)
Experience
6โ8 years in product and application design, designing user interfaces for mobile apps and web-based applications end to end, with strong command of Figma and hands-on use of AI-assisted design tools to move from concept to high-fidelity screens quickly
Role Summary
Avanade Indiaโs Experience Design capability is looking for a UI/UX Designer to design the interfaces our clientsโ users actually work in โ mobile applications and web-based enterprise applications, across devices. This is a hands-on craft role for a designer who owns the screen: understanding the user and the business problem, shaping the flow, and producing high-fidelity, build-ready designs in Figma.
You will work close to engineering on delivery teams โ turning requirements into user journeys, wireframes and interactive prototypes, building and maintaining design systems, and staying with the design through implementation so what ships matches what was approved. We expect you to use AI-assisted design tooling as part of your day-to-day, to explore concepts faster and produce more options for the same effort, and to bring judgement about where it helps and where it does not.
Key Responsibilities
- Design user interfaces for mobile applications (iOS and Android) and web-based applications, from first concept through to build-ready high-fidelity screens.
- Translate business requirements and user research into user journeys, information architecture, task flows, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
- Produce and maintain designs in Figma to a professional standard โ component libraries, variants, auto layout, variables and tokens, and clean, navigable files other people can work in.
- Use AI-assisted design tools to accelerate the work โ generating concepts and layout options, producing imagery and content placeholders, and speeding up iteration โ while owning the quality and coherence of the final design.
- Build and maintain design systems and style guides, and keep them consistent across products and squads.
- Design responsive and adaptive layouts that work across mobile, tablet and desktop, and respect platform conventions (Material Design, Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Fluent).
- Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA) โ contrast, hierarchy, focus states, touch targets and screen-reader considerations.
- Create prototypes for stakeholder review and usability testing, and run or support usability sessions and design walkthroughs.
- Present and explain design decisions to client stakeholders, and refine the work based on their feedback without losing the underlying intent.
- Hand off to engineering properly โ specifications, tokens, assets, states and edge cases โ and stay involved through build to review the implemented UI against the design.
- Work with product owners, business analysts, architects and developers on delivery teams, including agile ceremonies and sprint-based design delivery.
- Contribute to visual quality assurance โ reviewing built screens across browsers and devices and logging design defects.
- Contribute reusable design assets, templates, UI kits and patterns to the practice library, and support design input to proposals and pitches.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6โ8 years of experience in UI/UX or product design, with a portfolio showing shipped mobile apps and web applications.
- Strong command of Figma โ component libraries, variants, auto layout, variables and tokens, prototyping and collaborative file structure.
- Demonstrated hands-on use of AI-assisted design tools (for example Figma AI/Make, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, UX Pilot, Uizard, v0 or similar) in real project work, with a clear view of where they add value.
- Proven ability to take a requirement through the full design cycle: user flows, information architecture, wireframes, high-fidelity UI and prototype.
- Strong visual design skills โ typography, layout, colour, spacing and hierarchy โ and the discipline to apply them consistently.
- Experience designing and maintaining design systems and component libraries.
- Solid grounding in responsive and adaptive design, and in platform guidelines for iOS, Android and the web.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and how to design for them rather than retrofit them.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS and front-end constraints โ enough to design what can be built and to work well with developers.
- Experience with usability testing, design reviews and iterating on user or stakeholder feedback.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including presenting and defending design decisions to client stakeholders.
.
Preferred / Good to Have
- Experience designing enterprise applications, portals, dashboards or data-heavy interfaces, not only consumer apps.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator), Sketch, Adobe Firefly or motion tools such as After Effects, Rive or Lottie.
- Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem front-ends โ Power Apps, Power Pages, Fluent UI or SharePoint โ and their design constraints.
- Front-end familiarity with React or similar frameworks, or experience working in a code-connected design workflow (Figma Dev Mode, Storybook).
- Experience with user research methods โ interviews, personas, journey mapping, card sorting and analytics-informed design.
- Design-thinking or workshop facilitation experience with clients.
- Awareness of designing for AI-enabled products โ conversational and agent interfaces, prompt and result patterns, and communicating AI uncertainty in the UI.
- Experience in a consulting, agency, global delivery or SI environment (Avanade, Accenture, or similar), working with distributed teams.
- Formal design qualification (NID, Srishti, MIT ID or equivalent) or a strong self-taught portfolio with comparable depth.
- Prior contribution to reusable UI kits, design system libraries or practice-building initiatives.
