About this Job

Join HP Personal Systems as a Manager within Supply Planning, where you will lead a team responsible for translating demand signals, supply constraints, and product lifecycle priorities into executable supply plans. This role provides people leadership, operational direction, and business ownership across planning processes that support service, inventory, cost, and launch readiness objectives. You will coach a team of planners, strengthen standard work, drive issue resolution, and cross-functionally partner to improve planning quality, accelerate decision making, and deliver measurable business outcomes.


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • People Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of supply planners by setting priorities, clarifying ownership, managing performance, and building capability across planning fundamentals, business acumen, analytics, and stakeholder communication.
  • Planning Execution Ownership: Ensure the team translates demand, supply, and inventory, inputs into executable supply plans that support service objectives, customer commitments, and financial targets.
  • Forecast and Demand Alignment: Lead team engagement with demand planning and business stakeholders to identify forecast bias, demand shifts, upside/downside risk, and actions needed to align supply with business priorities.
  • Supply Risk Management: Drive proactive visibility to shortages, allocation decisions, backlog exposure, and recovery actions while ensuring clear escalation paths and timely stakeholder communication.
  • Product Lifecycle and Launch Readiness: Lead planning readiness for new product introductions, transitions, end-of-life activity, and platform changes by coordinating cross-functional milestones, supply commitments, and launch risk mitigation.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Facilitate alignment across Global Supply Management, Inventory, Data Analytics, Factory Operations, Planning Fulfillment, Demand Planning, Business Management, and Procurement to resolve issues and improve planning outcomes.
  • Metrics and Business Performance: Own team performance management across key indicators such as service levels, supply commitment, inventory health, cost, backlog recovery, forecast alignment, and root-cause/corrective-action effectiveness.
  • Process Governance and Continuous Improvement: Standardize planning processes, improve management systems, remove execution friction, and sponsor continuous improvement initiatives that increase planning discipline, decision quality, automation, and repeatability.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use planning system, analytics, dashboards, and scenario modeling to guide decisions, identify trends, explain tradeoffs, and communicate the “so what” to stakeholders and leaders.

Knowledge & Skills

  • People leadership & coaching experience
  • Supply planning, master production scheduling, and capacity management expertise
  • Strong understanding of the planning function and processes, product lifecycle management, and launch readiness
  • Ability to translate demand, supply, and inventory data into clear business actions
  • Executive-ready communication with emphasis on risk, impact, decision needed, and recommendations
  • Cross-functional influence across GSM, Demand Planning, Factory Operations, Procurement, Inventory, Business Management, Systems Planning, and Data Analytics
  • ERP and planning systems knowledge, including SAP
  • Analytical problem solving, root-cause analysis, and corrective action discipline
  • Process governance, standard work, continuous improvement, and operational rigor
  • Customer focus, business acumen, and results orientation
  • Change leadership, adaptability, and ability to operate in a fast-paced global environment
  • Working knowledge of supply chain frameworks such as SCOR
