Job Description​
BJC Saint Luke’s Health System is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP)—a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant—to join our Urogynecology team. The team provides specialized care for women with pelvic floor and lower urinary tract disorders, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, voiding dysfunction, recurrent UTIs, and overactive bladder.
Schedule
- Four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Friday
- One scheduled weekday off
- No routine weekends or holidays
- Shared call rotation for telephone triage and patient guidance possible
Position Summary
The APP will work collaboratively with physicians and the care team to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients in outpatient and inpatient settings. The role includes outpatient clinic care, potential for participation in an inpatient rotation, and the opportunity for an APP to develop procedural skills, including potential first assist in the operating room based on experience/certification, training, credentialing, and department needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Independent practice in the outpatient clinic and collaborating with physician(s) as appropriate, including evaluation, treatment, and follow-up
- Perform comprehensive histories, physical exams, and patient assessments
- Diagnose and manage urogynecologic conditions within scope of practice
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory and diagnostic test results
- Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriate
- Provide patient and family education
- Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams as appropriate
- Support continuity of care and quality improvement initiatives
Role duties may include but are not limited to
- Physician Assistants and Certified First-Assist: Operating room first-assist responsibilities as appropriate
- Completion of admissions, consultations, subsequent day visits and discharges in the inpatient setting
- This role may require training and competency for procedures applicable
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current APRN or PA license, or eligibility for licensure
- National certification as an NP or PA
- Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority, or ability to obtain as appropriate
Preferred Qualifications
- WHNP or PA certification
- Experience in Women’s Health, Urogynecology, Urology, Gynecology, or a related specialty
- Experience caring for patients with pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, or prolapse
- Operating room procedural experience or interest in developing specialty-specific skills
