CNC Turn/Mill Operator - 1st and 2nd Shift (1st Shift Training Required)

Position Summary
LSI is seeking an experiencedCNC Turn/Mill Operatorto set up, operate, troubleshoot, CNC Multi-axis machines used in the production of precision lead screws, ball screws, and related components.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience withMori Seiki and/or Doosan SMX CNC equipment and be capable of taking a job from setup through production while maintaining quality, productivity, and tight dimensional requirements.
This is a hands-on machining position for an individual who understandsCNC turning, milling, tooling, offsets, inspection, and process troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operateMori Seiki and Doosan SMX CNC turn/mill machines.
- Make program edits and adjustments as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining specifications.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, inserts, and work holding.
- Set tool and work offsets and make dimensional adjustments.
- Adjust feeds, speeds, tooling, and cutting conditions to optimize machining processes.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, dimensional, and programming issues.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and production requirements.
- Perform tool changes and manage tool life.
- Verify finished parts meet customer and engineering specifications.
- Complete production and quality documentation.
- Work closely with Engineering and Production to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Previous CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC turning and/or milling equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to make CNC program adjustments and understand basic G-code.
- Ability to work independently and maintain accurate production and quality standards.
Preferred QualificationsÂ
- Familiar with Fanuc based controllers
- Experience withMori Seiki CNC equipment.
- Experience withDoosan SMX multi-tasking CNC equipment.
- CNC programming experience with Esprit/Fusion.
- Experience with multi-axis machining.
- Experience with live tooling, C-axis and Y-axis machining.
- Experience optimizing CNC programs, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances.
- Experience in lead screw, ball screw, or similar precision machining is a plus.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who ismore than a machine operator. The ideal candidate understands the complete machining process and can confidentlyset up, operate, program, troubleshoot, and make adjustments to CNC turn/mill equipment.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
High school Diploma or GED.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to use sound judgment and reasoning in all situations.
Ability to prioritize, managing time and workload efficient and effectively, while holding high standards, and attention to detail.
Advanced math skills required
Ability to read precision gages: micrometers, calipers, etc
Ability to read a ruler or tape measure
Ability to read and interpret part prints
Ability to program in g-code and conversational programming languages
