At a Glance:
The Marketing and Events Specialist, Senior supports the planning and execution of customer events, trade shows, executive programs, sponsorship activations, internal events, and other branded experiences. The role also develops and coordinates marketing content across email, social media, digital, presentation, and print channels.
This position is ideal for a highly organized, polished marketing and events professional who can manage multiple priorities, communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, and independently lead smaller events from planning through post-event follow-up. The Specialist will report to the Global Events Manager and broader Marketing team to create well-executed experiences that strengthen customer relationships, support business priorities, and elevate the H&P brand.
The balance between event and content responsibilities will vary throughout the year based on the event calendar and business needs. During periods of increased event activity, the role will focus more heavily on event planning, coordination, and onsite execution. At other times, the role will provide broader support for marketing campaigns, communications, and content development.
What you will do:Â
Event Planning and Execution
- Independently plan and execute selected regional events, customer dinners, internal programs, smaller sponsorship activations, and other assigned events from initial planning through post-event closeout.
- Support the planning and execution of larger customer events, trade shows, executive programs, internal meetings, sponsorship activations, and other marketing experiences.
- Coordinate event timelines, attendee registration, invitations, communications, venues, vendors, transportation, promotional items, event materials, shipping, and other logistical requirements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to gather requirements, track deliverables, manage details, and support timely execution.
- Develop and distribute event invitations, registration communications, attendee updates, run-of-show materials, and post-event follow-up communications.
- Coordinate the production of signage, booth messaging, branded environments, presentation materials, attendee gifts, and promotional items in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
- Maintain accurate event schedules, registration lists, budgets, planning documents, vendor information, and project files.
- Provide onsite event support, including registration, vendor coordination, material setup, attendee assistance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Assist with post-event activities, including attendee follow-up, invoice coordination, budget reconciliation, feedback collection, and organization of event materials.
- Represent H&P professionally when interacting with customers, executives, employees, vendors, and industry partners.

Marketing Content Development
- Develop and adapt marketing content using approved messaging, subject-matter-expert input, and campaign direction.
- Write and edit content for marketing emails, event invitations, social media posts, website and landing pages, presentations, and other digital or print materials.
- Support the development of customer stories, fact sheets, one-pagers, case studies, product or technology materials, event promotions, and follow-up communications.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather accurate information and translate technical or complex topics into clear, engaging, audience-appropriate content.
- Adapt content for different audiences and channels while maintaining a consistent H&P voice, brand standards, and messaging.
- Proofread and edit materials for grammar, clarity, accuracy, style, consistency, and appropriate trademark usage.
- Coordinate content reviews and approvals with Marketing, Communications, Commercial, technical subject matter experts, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain organized content and project files and help ensure current, approved materials are accessible through appropriate marketing platforms.
Project Coordination and Collaboration
- Manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communicate project status, dependencies, decisions, and potential issues to appropriate stakeholders.
- Build productive working relationships across functions, regions, and levels of the organization.
- Participate in planning meetings and document decisions, responsibilities, deadlines, and next steps.
- Follow established brand, communications, legal, procurement, and approval processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve event planning, content workflows, project coordination, and attendee experiences.
- Take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and contribute practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- Five or more years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, event planning, hospitality, trade shows, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing events, including managing logistics, vendors, timelines, attendee communications, and onsite needs.
- Experience writing or developing marketing and communications content for internal or external audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage smaller projects while supporting complex, high-visibility programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong event-planning, organizational, and project-management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Sound judgment, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Professional presence and discretion when supporting customers, executives, and high-visibility events.
- Ability to understand technical information and identify the most relevant points for a specific audience.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn about H&P’s operations, technologies, customers, and industry.
- Flexibility and willingness to contribute where needed during planning and event execution.
Not a Must but a Plus
- Experience supporting customer events, trade shows, executive programs, or sponsorship activations.
- Experience in the oil and gas, energy, industrial, or technical business-to-business sector.
- Experience developing social media content, marketing emails, event communications, or digital content.
- Familiarity with marketing automation, social media management, event registration, customer relationship management, or project-management platforms.
- Experience collaborating with technical subject matter experts and translating complex information for broader audiences.
Travel Requirements
- Travel is expected to average approximately 10% annually, with increased travel during spring and fall event seasons.
- Domestic travel is required, and occasional international travel may be required based on business and event needs.
- Most events and related travel will occur during the standard work week; however, limited evening or weekend work may be required based on event schedules, travel needs, or onsite responsibilities.
- Flexibility is required during periods of increased event activity.
