Major Responsibilities:
- Willingness to learn the lighting industry at an accelerated pace to complement your superior sales skills.
- This position requires the Lighting Specialist to liaise with all NB and PEI Account Managers on lighting projects.
- Develop a strong understanding of available rebate incentives available in NB and PEI for energy-efficient lighting upgrades.
- The ideal candidate should be comfortable doing lighting-related presentations to customers and Graybar employees.
- Must be able to manage many projects at the same time in various stages of completion.
- Promote lighting sales to existing commercial, industrial and institutional accounts and identify and solicit potential clients.
- Assess clients' needs and resources and recommend the appropriate goods or services.
- Provide input into product design when goods or services must be tailored to suit the client's needs.
- Develop proposals and presentations to illustrate product benefits.
- Prepare energy-efficient lighting and retrofit recommendations, cost analysis and payback calculations.
- Develop and present customer-oriented information sessions consisting of new product information and legislation, design information and computer-aided lighting design demonstrations throughout the province.
- Overnight travel will be required to adequately support the sales territory and five branch locations in New Brunswick. Travel to Prince Edward Island may also be required on occasion.
- Training trips may be required multiple times a year to keep up to date on the latest lighting and controls technologies.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
- An extrovert with a technical aptitude that focuses on details.
- Sales experience combined with a technical certificate or business degree is preferred.
- Must be able to work well independently and within a small team.
- We are looking for a self-motivated, passionate and socially outgoing individual to build relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Knowledge of lighting products is an asset; however, training will be provided.
- Electrical industry knowledge would be helpful in this position.
- Must exhibit excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Have the ability to prioritize work and be flexible.
- Must have a valid driver's license and enjoy travelling throughout New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
- Be consistent in your ability to meet deadlines.
- Practice excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preference will be given to those with proven experience and a passion for sales.
- Have proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel to the US for training.
- The successful candidate must be willing to reside in Moncton, Fredericton or Saint John.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000
