Responsibilities
- Manage the product, documentation, and payment flow for physical trades, coordinating with customers, suppliers, freight providers, and internal teams.
- Plan and coordinate vessel and container loading and discharge operations with ship brokers, freight forwarders, and other logistics providers.
- Assess the suitability of transportation options, including prior cargoes, tank conditions, and materials of construction, to ensure safe carriage and compliance with customer specifications.
- Manage import and export customs processes and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date trade and shipment data in the ERP system in line with company policies.
- Coordinate with Finance, Credit, Compliance, and other internal teams to ensure trade requirements are properly managed.
- Negotiate rates and service terms with third-party logistics, freight, and inspection service providers.
- Communicate shipment status and key operational details clearly and proactively with local and international teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and service providers to ensure the smooth execution of bulk and containerized trades.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, trade operations, or physical commodity movements preferred.
- Knowledge of Incoterms, import/export procedures, shipping documentation, and international trade processes preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in English; French is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
