Engineering Manager

Your Mission:

We are seeking an experiencedEngineering Manager to join our team. This role involves providingtechnical assurance, overseeingdesign and implementation activities, and ensuring compliance withmodern engineering standards and regulations.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

✅ Provideengineering support to develop work scopes, manage requirements, and perform assurance activities for projects.
✅ Manageengineering support for assigned systems.
✅ Offerguidance and support to Lead Project Engineers and Project Engineers.
✅ Assist in therecruitment and development of engineering personnel.
✅Deputise for the Head of Engineering and other Engineering Managers when required.
✅ Promotebest practices and ensure the correct behaviours are demonstrated by the engineering team.
✅ Leadcompetency assessments and career development initiatives.
✅ Ensure effective communication ofLearning from Experience (LfE) within the team.
✅ Collaborate withstakeholders to support efficient programme delivery.
✅ Oversee themanagement of consultants and contractors.
✅ Work closely withBIM/CAD teams to integrate engineering solutions.
✅ Adhere to siteSafety Management Arrangements, processes, and procedures.
✅Chair meetings and design reviews to ensure project alignment.
✅ Supportprogramme optioneering and project planning processes.
✅Review and approve project documentation.
✅ Ensureregulatory compliance with industry standards and site-authorised conditions.
✅ Comply with allHealth, Safety, Environment, Security, and Quality policies.
✅ Deliverengineering presentations and reports as required.

🎓 Essential Skills & Experience:

🎯Degree qualification in a relevant engineering (preferably,  Mechanical,  Civil and Electrical Engineering)
🎯Chartered Engineer status or the ability to attain chartered status (demonstration of continued professional development).

✨ Desirable Skills & Experience:

💡 Experience in:
🔹Technical assurance and compliance within a regulated environment.
🔹Project engineering, including site implementation and stakeholder engagement.
🔹Production of technical documentation (e.g., reports, specifications).
🔹Supervision and mentoring of engineering teams.
🔹Familiarity with NEC4 contracts and industry regulations.

🔒 Security Clearance & Nationality Requirements:

⚠️Sole UK Nationals only – due to security requirements.
⚠️SC Clearance is required for this role.

Umbrella Contractor or Permanent Staff position

The role would typically be expected to be conducted in a hybrid arrangement from Glasgow City Centre (3 days office, 2 days WFH).
