Location: Lincoln, NE 68508
Contract Length: 6 Months
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Onsite | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $75-$80/hr
Overtime: Available during harvest season

We are seeking an experiencedTransportation Logistics Specialist to support transportation operations across Ag and Energy business platforms. This role will be responsible for carrier management, freight procurement, transportation pricing, market analysis, shipment execution, and transportation cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate truck freight rates and contract terms with carriers.
• Manage carrier relationships, capacity planning, and shipment execution.
• Support transportation spend management and cost reduction initiatives.
• Maximize load pairing (backhaul) opportunities across product lines.
• Analyze transportation operations and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Provide stakeholders with accurate, market-based freight pricing.
• Monitor carrier KPIs and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Maintain transportation data, freight rates, contracts, and volume forecasts within TMS (Master Mind) and internal systems.
• Resolve freight invoice discrepancies and ensure accurate carrier payments.
• Serve as a transportation market expert, providing insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, carrier management, or freight operations.
• Experience negotiating transportation rates and contracts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Advanced Excel and data management capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Agricultural, commodities, grain, energy, or manufacturing industry experience.
• Knowledge of truck freight markets and carrier networks.
• Transportation spend analysis and carrier performance management experience.
• Experience with transportation rating systems and freight pricing models.
• Grain commodity trading experience is a strong plus.
