A growing California-based law firm is seeking an experienced Transactional / Settlement Administration Attorney to support the firm's class and representative action practice. This attorney will be responsible for managing the legal and procedural aspects of settlement administration, drafting and negotiating settlement-related agreements, and ensuring compliance with court-approved settlement requirements.
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, review, and revise a variety of agreements, including complex settlement agreements and related documentation.
- Prepare motions and supporting documents seeking preliminary and final approval of settlements.
- Coordinate with third-party settlement administrators to facilitate efficient administration of settlements and ensure compliance with court orders.
- Draft and revise settlement notices, claim forms, release agreements, and other settlement-related communications.
- Monitor settlement implementation and administration processes to ensure deadlines and legal requirements are satisfied.
- Collaborate with attorneys, administrators, and other stakeholders to address settlement-related issues and drive matters to completion.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance regarding settlement administration and compliance matters.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, preferably involving employment law, class actions, complex litigation, or settlement administration.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and settlement agreements.
- Familiarity with class action or representative action settlement processes is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and project management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
- Total compensation range: $140,000–$200,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
