Do you enjoy helping others? As a Training Specialist, you will work with people who have disabilities or other challenges. You will help them learn job skills, gain confidence, and become more independent.  This position works in a structured classroom or lab environment and encourages personal growth, skill development, and lifelong learning.

Your support can help someone find a job, reach a personal goal, or become more involved in their community.

What You'll Do

Teaching Job Skills

• Help people learn skills needed for work.
• Teach communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management.
• Show participants how to succeed in the workplace.
• Help people explore different jobs and career paths.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach basic computer and digital skills.
• Create and lead technology training activities.
• Support participants with different learning needs and abilities.
• Use adaptive and everyday technology to improve learning.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and skill growth.
• Track participant progress and provide support when needed.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and organized learning environment.

Encourage and Support Others

• Coach and motivate participants as they learn new skills.
• Help people build confidence and independence.
• Celebrate successes and encourage progress.

Help People Be Part of the Community

• Support participants in community and work settings.
• Help them build positive relationships with employers and coworkers.
• Encourage inclusion and participation in everyday activities.

Creating a Safe and Positive Environment

• Follow support plans and program guidelines.
• Help keep everyone safe.
• Treat all people with kindness, respect, and dignity.

Track Progress

• Complete simple paperwork and reports.
• Keep attendance and progress records.
• Provide feedback and help participants continue improving.
