ROLE SUMMARY

The Training Coordinator, under the administrative supervision of the Regional President and functional oversight of the Director of EMS Academies, coordinates and supports training initiatives across the South Region. This role assists with the day-to-day administration and delivery of training programs and helps ensure developmental programs align with organizational competencies, operational priorities, clinical standards, and compliance requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating and/or facilitating New Employee Orientation, supporting the development and implementation of approved training plans and curricula, assisting with training delivery, monitoring assigned training metrics, and maintaining accurate records of employee training participation and progress. The Training Coordinator also supports consistency in training delivery, professional development of training personnel, and follow-up on identified training or credentialing gaps.

This is a Non-Exempt/Hourly Role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of approved in-person and online training programs, using assigned metrics and feedback surveys to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate and/or administer training initiatives throughout the South Region.
  • Coordinate and/or facilitate New Employee Orientation and other assigned onboarding education, ensuring required training, documentation, assessments, and learning activities are completed and appropriately recorded.
  • Partner with Operations and EMS education leadership to support consistency in FTO/preceptor education, onboarding expectations, and employee progression through assigned training programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable state EMS education requirements, AHA standards, company clinical protocols, and other regulatory or accreditation requirements impacting assigned training programs.
  • Track and report key training metrics, including completion rates, overdue training, assessment results, learner feedback, remediation needs, and other assigned performance indicators.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of training programs that address identified organizational needs, including leadership development, succession planning, and high-potential employee development, as assigned.
  • Communicate with the Director of EMS Academies, Regional President, and operational leaders regarding training initiatives and alignment with clinical operations.
  • Support administration of the organization's LMS, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Ensure learning programs support organizational goals and contribute to a positive learning culture.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of assigned training programs and recommend or implement approved improvements.
  • Recommend new training methods and technologies, including e-learning courses and game-based platforms, to enhance learning experiences.
  • Assist with the development and revision of training programs and materials and recommend changes for approval by appropriate leadership.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge, understanding, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Operations to support EMS school relationships, career fairs, recruiting events, and other workforce pipeline initiatives.
  • Always maintain security and privacy of all company and patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Audit and refine content on a regular basis to continually improve materials and adjust to business needs.
  • Keep abreast of training needs, developments, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely training records, attendance documentation, certifications, assessments, and other required documentation in the LMS and designated systems in accordance with company policy and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support and/or conduct periodic audits of training completion and credential records, identify gaps or overdue requirements, and coordinate follow-up with appropriate leaders to support compliance.
  • Escalate identified training, certification, credentialing, or compliance deficiencies to appropriate operational and clinical leadership and assist with corrective action planning and follow-up.
  • Maintain appropriate document retention, version control, and confidentiality for training materials, employee records, and compliance documentation.
  • This role provides coordination, functional guidance, and support to training personnel and may lead training initiatives, projects, or workgroups. Formal direct-report responsibility, if any, will be determined by the organizational structure and assigned by the Regional President and Director of EMS Academies.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of an assigned South Region operating location, preferably within the Baptist Ambulance service area.
  • Must be knowledgeable in medical terminology.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach and provide training, instruction, and development to adult learners with varying learning preferences.
  • High level of customer service orientation and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent administrative skills and be very detail-oriented.
  • Must have strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must have ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Must be proficient with creating training curricula with assessments, using authoring tools, and using LMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and training design to create face-to-face, virtual, and online course curriculum.
  • Proficient use of SharePoint, Zoom, and Teams.
  • Experience in training, education, program coordination, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with project management, authoring tools, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and provide leadership within a corporate environment.
  • Ability to travel onsite to conduct training, attend meetings and connect with training personnel as well as operations leaders throughout the South Region as needed.
  • Currently licensed Paramedic.
  • Currently credentialed as an AHA Instructor in ACLS, BLS, Heartsaver, and PALS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 1 and Level 2 EMS Instructor.
  • NAEMT Instructor.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Learning and Development, Emergency Medical Services, or related field.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or other non-standard hours, as required to support training and operational needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

Travel Requirements

Regular travel to company locations will be required to support training delivery, meetings, program implementation, and collaboration with operations leaders. Travel frequency will vary based on organizational needs and may include overnight travel.

Work Environment

Work is performed in office, classroom, virtual, and operational EMS environments. The role may require presence in ambulance stations, training facilities, clinical or field settings, and other company locations. The employee may be exposed to conditions typical of EMS operations while supporting hands-on training activities and must follow all applicable safety, infection-control, privacy, and company procedures.
