
Traditional Protestant Service Musician
The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Pastoral Services and be responsible for the following:
Position: Traditional Protestant Service Musician
Location: Fort Campbell, KY
The Contractor shall play the piano or electric piano or organ or other lead instrument as accompaniment for the singing of hymns, choruses, and spiritual songs; perform prelude, postlude, offertory, and background for meditation and prayers that enhances the atmosphere of worship for the particular congregation. The Contractor shall play a prelude 15 minutes prior to designated start time and a postlude of at least 5 minutes at the conclusion of the Service. The length of a Worship Service can last up to 1.25 hours. 52 Service annually.
Traditional Rehearsal. The Contractor shall play the piano, electric piano, organ, or other lead instrument as accompaniment for choir and/or worship team rehearsals on scheduled rehearsal dates the week prior to the upcoming Sunday and/or Special event or Holiday service. Length of a Rehearsal is one (1) hour
The Contractor shall perform site preparation (set-up) and restoration (stowing musical equipment or other activities necessary to return facility to pre-service configuration). Contractor shall arrive 30 minutes prior to the commencement of worship services to prepare the facility for music performances.
The contractor shall perform Special Services up to five times per year. Each special service will not exceed one hour.
CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS.
The Contractor must provide a resume and documentation to substantiate personal qualifications. Although a specific degree is not mandatory, any credentials pertaining to this position, training and experience is considered.
The Contractor shall demonstrate their ability to play the identified instrument(s): piano or keyboard.
The Contractor shall demonstrate ability to play to the congregants any selections in the Armed Forces Hymnal and other hymnals and/or song books designated by the POC.
The Contractor shall be familiar with the faith traditions and practices of the supported congregation(s)
The Contractor shall possess the ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in English, both orally and writing
The Contractor shall have personal transportation to fulfill contract requirements and any other items or services to fulfill this position.
The Contractor shall Present a neat and well-groomed appearance appropriate for services being conducted during the performance of this contract.
The Contractor shall always behave professionally modeling the highest standards of moral and personal integrity. This requirement includes wearing appropriate attire, refraining from obscene language, refraining from using or being under the influence of drugs, or alcohol. The Contractor will not engage in any activities that may adversely affect the chapel environment. This includes, but is not limited to, arguing, complaining, criticism of others, gossip, or rumors
