Pay:$45.00 - $55.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
Schedule: M-F 8:30am-4:30pm PST (or 5:30pm depending on lunch) Has the option of 30min or 1hr lunch
Description:
The Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting U.S. import compliance activities and ensuring adherence to U.S. Customs regulations and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements. This role partners with customs brokers, government agencies, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate compliant import operations, minimize supply chain disruptions, and drive continuous improvement across trade compliance programs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret U.S. import regulations and maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR) and applicable Partner Government Agency requirements, including FDA, USDA, TSCA, and DEA.
- Manage import compliance issues, including government holds, examinations, requests for information, Temporary Importations Under Bond (TIBs), Section 232 duties, Section 301 duties, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
- Determine country of origin and support product marking and labeling compliance requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customs brokers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders regarding import compliance matters.
- Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate customs filings and import clearances.
- Conduct broker audits and monitor broker performance to ensure compliance with company requirements and service expectations.
- Maintain import records in accordance with Customs recordkeeping requirements and support internal and external audits.
- Investigate import compliance issues, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
- Develop, maintain, and update trade compliance procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Support Global Trade Compliance automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen compliance, improve efficiency, and reduce trade disruptions.
- Lead or support special projects related to import compliance and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Required
- 5-7 years hands-on experience supporting import compliance, customs brokerage, or international trade operations.
- Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import compliance requirements.
- Experience working with customs brokers and government regulatory agencies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred:
- Experience with FDA, USDA, TSCA, DEA, and other Partner Government Agency requirements.
- Experience conducting broker audits and compliance audits.
- Experience managing Customs recordkeeping programs.
- Experience developing procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Experience within the medical device, biotechnology, life sciences, or other regulated industries.
