SMBIC Data and Regulatory Operations Group is a global team operating in over 20 countries, providing essential support to key business lines including Markets, Services, and Wealth Management. We provide an array of services to enable client lifecycle transactions; from relationship establishment, supporting the data demands surrounding instruments and delivering non-financial reporting to our regulators.
The Regulatory Operations Testing Team, within SMBIC Data and Regulatory Operations, rigorously test all system changes to guarantee adherence to regulatory mandates and prevent disruption to existing, critical functionalities.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Tester to play a key role in ensuring the quality of our non-financial regulatory reporting changes. As a Tester, you will be responsible for executing and reporting on UAT and regression testing for both new regulatory implementations and ongoing remediation efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration & Learning:Ā Work closely with senior testers and business analysts to understand regulatory requirements and system changes.
- Regression Test Coverage:Develop and establish traceability matrix on LLM generated scenarios against regulatory documents and unearth requirements coverage gaps.
- Test Planning Support:Ā Assist in creating and maintaining UAT test plans and scripts.
- Test Execution:Ā Execute UAT scripts accurately, following procedures and documenting results.
- Defect Reporting:Ā Identify and report defects clearly, providing relevant information.
- Defect Triage:Ā Participate in defect triage meetings.
- Defect Retesting:Ā Retest defects after fixes are implemented.
- Test Data/Environment Support:Ā Assist in preparing test data and environments.
- Documentation:Ā Contribute to documenting UAT processes and best practices.
- Regulatory Knowledge:Ā Develop an understanding of non-financial regulatory reporting requirements and their application.
- Task Management:Ā Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Continuous Learning:Ā Proactively seek opportunities to learn and improve testing skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology) or equivalent experience
- Min. 8 years of experience in software testing, with exposure to User Acceptance Testing.
- Experience on leading AI tools and strong prompt engineering skills (e.g., Claude, Gemini, etc.) with strong Python and scripting skills.
- Must have strong regulatory compliance background of atleast 8 years with core NFRR trade reporting (e.g. Mifid, ASIC, EMIR, CFTC, MAS, etc.) and regulatory requirements analysis skills.
- Strong understanding of non-financial regulatory reporting concepts including trade transactions reporting across global regs.
- Experience with testing changes related to the implementation of new regulations or BAU remediation activities is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Should be able to liaise with regulatory SMEs, internal controls team and internal auditors.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team environment. A proactive and eager attitude towards learning and development.
