Shift:Â 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM; Monday - Thrusday
The Pipe Mold CNC Journeyman Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing a variety of CNC machine tools, including lathes and milling machines, to manufacture precision machine parts and related components. This position requires advanced machining knowledge, the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, and expertise in CNC program adjustments to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivity. The role also supports machine shop scheduling, tooling selection, and operator training while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
- Set up, operate, optimize, and modify CNC lathes, mills, and related equipment to produce quality precision-machined components and improve production efficiency.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions while coordinating tooling, workflow, equipment, and production activities to meet operational requirements.
- Train CNC operators and inspect completed work using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain clean and safe work areas.
- While the above responsibilities will be the primary focus of this job, the company reserves the right to assign additional duties as necessary to meet operational needs.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes, milling machines, and related equipment, including working knowledge of Fanuc controls and CNC program modifications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and technical documentation, and apply sound machining practices, tooling selection, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauges, and other quality control tools.
- Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to maintain required personal machinist tools and measuring instruments.
- Must furnish and maintain required personal machinist tools and measuring instruments necessary to perform job duties.
- Physically able to perform tasks involving standing, lifting, and operating equipment.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and ability by passing both a written and performance exam.
