Job Title: Group Functions Third Party Risk Management Advisor
Reports to: Head of Operational Resilience and Third Party Risk Management
Location: Angel Court, London (hybrid)
Contract type: Permanent
Shift pattern: Full time, 35 hours per week
We make health happen!
At Bupa, we're here to help people live longer, healthier, happier lives and make a better world. Because we have no shareholders, our customers are at the heart of every decision we make.
We're looking for a Third Party Risk Management Advisor to play a key role in strengthening how Bupa manages risk across Group Functions. This is a high-profile opportunity for someone looking to broaden their exposure and take on greater responsibility. You'll work directly with senior stakeholders across Group Functions and gain visibility with executive-level leaders, including governance committees and senior risk leaders. This is an excellent opportunity to shape and embed our Third Party Risk Management approach, influence decision-making, with a particular focus on non-supplier third parties.
As our Third Party Risk Management Advisor, you'll help build a clear understanding of third party relationships, applying framework requirements, and make sure risk management requirements become part of everyday ways of working. You'll help us protect our organisation, customers, support operational resilience, and strengthen decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Third Party Risk Management Advisor, you'll:
- Identify and assess non-supplier third parties across Group Functions.
- Build and maintain an inventory of third party relationships and the controls used to manage them.
- Review current practices against Third Party Risk Management standards and provide clear insights into risk exposure.
- Design and implement practical processes that support effective management and oversight of third parties.
- Develop reporting and management information to support decision-making.
- Support the rollout and embedding of risk management frameworks across Group Functions.
- Create reporting that helps monitor key risks, controls and performance measures.
- Partner with colleagues across BGIUK who manage Group Functions Suppliers as well as Risk, Legal, Procurement, Operational Resilience, Clinical Risk and business teams.
- Turn complex risk topics into clear and engaging communication for a wide range of audiences.
- Act as Lead Risk Process Owner for non-supplier third parties and support risk reporting activities. For candidates unfamiliar with this term, this means taking ownership of the framework, governance and oversight of a specific risk area.
What We’re Looking For
We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, including risk, operational, finance, clinical and governance-related roles. Most important is your ability to engage stakeholders, analyse information, influence decisions and confidently work with senior audiences.
You’ll have:
- Experience in risk management or a related field, with strong analytical skills and the ability to assess information, risks, controls and business processes.
- The confidence to build relationships, influence and engage effectively with senior stakeholders across a complex organisation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate policy requirements into practical processes, operating models and clear business outcomes.
- Experience mapping and assessing business processes, operational workflows and governance frameworks.
- The ability to work independently, drive activity forward and present recommendations, updates and insights to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
- Experience supporting risk reporting, control assessments or framework implementation activities.
- Knowledge of Third Party Risk Management principles and lifecycle activities, including due diligence, onboarding, monitoring and exit planning is desirable.
- Experience using governance, risk and compliance platforms such as SAI360, ServiceNow, ProcessUnity or OneTrust is desirable.
