We are hiring aLead Engineer to join our Robotics – New Product Development - team, leading a small group of engineers working acrosselectronics, firmware, and mechanics. You will take technical ownership of key sub-systems, review designs, support technical decisions, and follow the development from concept through to production.
The role isprimarily technical, combined with people responsibility for a growing engineering team. You will plan and coordinate the team’s work, follow up on project milestones and technical deliverables, and support the development of the engineers in your team.
Job Responsibilities:
Taketechnical ownership of assigned sub-systems, covering technical solutions, scope, quality, compliance, cost, and delivery from development through to production.
Lead and coordinate amultidisciplinary engineering team across electronics, firmware, and mechanics, planning resources, prioritising work, reviewing designs, and making technical trade-offs.
Work closely withProduct, System Architecture, Project Management, Supply Chain, Test, Compliance, and Manufacturing to deliver against project milestones.
Supportsuppliers and production readiness, while driving good engineering practices, standardisation, and reuse across product development.
Manage and develop asmall, growing team of engineers, including regular 1:1s, feedback, performance follow-up, mentoring, hiring, and onboarding.
Job Requirements:
8+ years of engineering experience in product development, ideally with a background inelectronics and/or firmware, and experience leading engineers or technical teams.
Strong technical understanding acrosselectronics, firmware, and mechanical systems, with the ability to review designs, provide technical feedback, and make engineering trade-offs.
Experience developingphysical products for serial or high-volume production, from development and testing through industrialisation and production.
Experience withproject execution and engineering planning, including resource allocation, prioritisation, milestones, and Agile ways of working.
Solidpeople and communication skills, with experience mentoring engineers and working across engineering, product, manufacturing, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
