Tool Room Machinist

ABB | Ormond Beach | Full-Time

About the Role

ABB is seeking a skilled and experienced Tool Room Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of tooling and equipment critical to our production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and maintain punch press tooling, including dies, punches, and related components
• Perform injection mold maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
• Operate and set up a variety of machine tools including:
  • Bridgeport Mills
  • Manual Lathes
  • Surface Grinders
  • Sinker EDM
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards throughout all machining operations
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in a tool room machinist or similar role
• Hands-on proficiency with Bridgeport mills, manual lathes, surface grinders, and Sinker EDM
• Demonstrated experience in punch press tool fabrication
• Working knowledge of injection mold maintenance and repair
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CNC mill and/or lathe programming, setup and operation.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
• Vocational/technical training or apprenticeship in machining or tool & die
