Summary:

The Supply Chain Administrator will support the efficient operation of ESL’s global supply chain activities, ensuring the smooth flow of materials, products, information and documentation from suppliers through to customers. The role provides administrative support across purchasing, logistics, inventory management, reporting and customer fulfilment whilst contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery to customers and suppliers.
  • Prepare and manage import and export documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate updates internally and externally.
  • Maintain accurate supply chain records within ERP and business systems.
  • Support purchase order administration, order confirmation tracking and supplier communications.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, suppliers, warehouse teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with inventory reporting and stock reconciliation activities.
  • Support preparation of supplier and logistics performance reports and KPIs.
  • Investigate supply chain issues and support resolution of delivery, quality and documentation discrepancies.
  • Support customs compliance activities and maintain shipping records.
  • Coordinate urgent and same-day shipments where required.
  • Prepare quotations and freight cost estimates where appropriate and approving invoices.
  • Support continuous improvement and automation projects across the supply chain function.
  • Provide administrative support to the Supply Chain team and assist with ad hoc projects.

Essential Skills


  • GCSE English & Maths at Grade C or above or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an administrative, logistics, supply chain, purchasing or customer service role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including purchasing, inventory control, logistics, warehousing and customer fulfilment.
  • Experience using business management systems to maintain accurate supply chain records and transactions
  • Knowledge of transport, logistics and shipment coordination processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers, customers, logistics providers and internal stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy when handling orders, shipping documentation and business-critical information.
  • Self-motivated and results orientated.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent organisational skills.




Desirable  Skills 

  • Experience of international shipping, freight forwarding or import/export processes.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and customs documentation.
  • Experience using ERP or supply chain management systems.
  • Experience working within a global trading environment.
  • Languages skills.
