About Us:
Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated IT System Administrator to join our Information Technology team. This position plays an important role in keeping the Hospital's technology systems, network infrastructure, applications, and equipment secure, reliable, and operating efficiently. The position reports to the IT Manager.
Position Summary:
As the IT System Administrator, you will provide hands-on support and administration across the Hospital's technology environment. The role supports a broad technology environment that includes servers, networks, firewalls, applications, telecommunications, and healthcare technology.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, monitor, maintain, upgrade, and support IT systems, including desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, telecommunications, firewalls, databases, and applications.
- Administer Microsoft Server environments, including Active Directory, TCP/IP, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and LDAP.
- Manage Microsoft WSUS updates for Windows servers, workstations, and Microsoft Office.
- Support VMware and vSphere environments.
- Support Cisco wireless access points, controllers, switches, VLANs, and network configurations.
- Maintain and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls, spam filters, and content filters.
- Support disaster recovery, backup, and restore operations.
- Work with vendors to install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software.
- Document and manage user issues through the IT ticketing system.
- Maintain system security in accordance with HIPAA requirements and industry best practices.
- Participate in HIPAA audits and Security Risk Analysis activities.
- Support printers, copiers, and telecommunications systems.
- Assist the IT Manager with annual IT budget preparation.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
- Â Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Â 2+ years of System Administrator or similar IT support experience preferred.
- IT certifications such asA+, Network+, Security+, or CCNA preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Server environments and Active Directory.
- Knowledge of networking, switches, VLANs, wireless systems, and firewalls.
- Experience with VMware/vSphere.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn and support healthcare information systems such as EHR and PACS.
- Experience with Mitel VOIP telecommunications is beneficial.
- Healthcare IT, medical equipment, EHR, or PACS experience is desired.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work on-site at Sheridan Community Hospital.
The position requires on-site work and includes Cisco switch/VLAN support. The job description also identifies healthcare systems experience and several industry IT certifications as preferred rather than required.
