Position: Test Technician
Location: Northampton, MA
Work Model: 100% Onsite
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule (Union Position)

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance (US Citizenship Required)

TheTest Technician 2 is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by performingtesting, troubleshooting, calibration, and quality verification of electronic components, assemblies, and systems. This role works closely with engineers and production teams to ensure that products meettechnical specifications and quality standards.
The technician will performRF, microwave, digital, video, and system-level testing, analyze operational data, and assist in improving manufacturing processes through testing and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Testing
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting ofparts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Support engineers withequipment setup, calibration, and test configuration.
  • Collect and analyze operational data using test systems and specialized software.
  • Performrework and adjustments based on testing results.
RF / Microwave Testing
  • Conduct RF tests such asinsertion loss, gain, and VSWR using RF test equipment.
  • Assist in setting up and executing RF test procedures.
Position Stabilization Systems
  • Support testing ofgyro stabilization and positioning systems.
  • Use test equipment to verify system functionality.
  • Assist withsynchro nulling and gyroscope alignment during assembly.
Communication & Data Systems
  • Establish system connections and verifydata communications and signal integrity.
  • Confirm presence and performance ofdata streams and communication signals.
Video Systems
  • Configure and adjustvideo monitors and TV cameras used in testing systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot video faults such as:
    • Loss of synchronization
    • Video noise
    • Incorrect display settings
Digital Electronics Testing
  • Test circuits using tools such aslogic probes and digital test equipment.
  • Analyze signals and verify proper integration of digital electronic components.
Documentation & Quality
  • Work with manufacturing documentation and procedures.
  • Maintain accuratetest records and documentation.
  • Performcomponent-level and subassembly testing according to engineering drawings.
Programming & System Testing
  • Program devices includingmicroprocessors and microcomputers using defined procedures.
  • Conductunit-level and system-level operational testing.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR
  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field
Experience
  • Experience withelectronic testing in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working withelectronic assemblies, circuits, or instrumentation
Required Skills
  • Ability toread and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and data sheets
  • Knowledge ofRF testing equipment and electronics testing tools
  • Understanding ofdigital electronics fundamentals
  • Strongtroubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic proficiency withMicrosoft Office applications
  • Strongcommunication and documentation skills
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge ofSAP systems
  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing standards:
    • IPC-A-610
    • IPC-620
    • J-STD-001
  • Experience working inaerospace or defense manufacturing environments
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able toobtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship required for clearance eligibility
  • Ability to work100% onsite in Northampton, MA
