Test Engineer – 813567

Duties/Responsibilities

· Review business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and technical designs to ensure requirements are testable and complete.

· Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data for application enhancements and new functionality.

· Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard testing tools and frameworks.

· Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.

· Validate Smart Trip web, mobile, API, and backend system functionality against business requirements.

· Support testing of interfaces and integrations between Smart Trip applications and supporting systems.

· Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through resolution.

· Participate in defect triage meetings and work with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

· Analyze application changes and determine impacts to existing testing artifacts and automation suites.

· Ensure test results meet project objectives, business requirements, and acceptance criteria.

· Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and coordinate testing efforts with business stakeholders.

· Work closely with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and vendor teams to support deployment and release activities.

· Support continuous integration and deployment processes by executing automated and regression testing.

· Prepare testing status reports, metrics, and release readiness assessments.

· Ensure testing environments, tools, and test data are properly configured and maintained.

· Provide production validation and post-deployment testing support.

· Maintain compliance with WMATA security policies and complete all required security awareness training.
