Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering services company with over 30 years of experience, specializing intest coordination and industrialcommissioning. TES also supports its clients in engineeringstudies and theassembly coordination of industrial equipment.
As part of our expanding activities on major infrastructure projects, we are currently looking for aSenior Cost Engineer (m/f) to serve as a technical lead within our project controls organization.
Acting as a subject matter expert within theCost and Forecasting team for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear power station project, the Senior Cost Engineer ensures the uniform implementation of the cost management strategy across designated project areas. You will oversee the delivery of specific contracts ranging in value from£10m to £500m, direct the daily workload of Cost Engineers and Trainee Cost Engineers, and serve as the main face of cost management to Program Directors and key stakeholders.
This role actively underpins success acrossEngineering, Procurement & Manufacturing, Construction, and Commissioning phases, aligning with HPC critical success factors:

Key milestone achievement leading to Commercial Operation Date (COD)

Key responsabilities :
Technical Leadership & Team Guidance: Direct daily tasks and provide technical guidance to Cost Engineers and Trainee Cost Engineers. Lead training sessions on cost management software and processes for project management teams.
Contract & Data Management: Oversee cost and forecast data across high-value contract portfolios (£10m–£500m) in alignment with CBS/WBS. Ensure data integrity within systems such asEcoSys andSAP.
Stakeholder Engagement & Decision Support: Partner with Program/Area Directors to review major issues, lead scenario planning workshops, and present accurate insights at Board Meetings, Program Reviews, and ROTCS.
Trend & Risk Integration: Work alongside Risk Leads and Project Controls Managers to connect cost data with schedule, risk, and change management, ensuring high-quality risk information informs baseline estimates.
Reporting & Dashboards: Manage and verify data outputs withinPower BI dashboards and ensure high-quality cost reporting across defined cycles.
Governance & Information Security: Support good governance, process enhancement, and strict compliance with protective marking forSensitive Nuclear Information.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Education: Minimum HND (or equivalent qualification/degree) in Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, or a related field. Cost & Forecasting specific qualifications are preferred.
Experience: Minimum10 years of senior-level experience in a Cost and Forecasting role within a complex, highly regulated industry (energy, nuclear, major infrastructure).
Expertise: Proven track record of managing multi-stakeholder interfaces, technical leadership, and active integration across project controls disciplines.
Desirable:
Direct experience on major complex construction projects.
Prior nuclear industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Software Tools :
Software Expertise: Advanced user and trainer inEcoSys,SAP,Power BI,Teamcenter, and MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Access).
Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to simplify complex financial and technical scenarios for executive-level audiences.
Leadership: Strong delegation, coaching, interpersonal, and stakeholder-influencing capabilities.
