Job Description:

Eligibility: Internship opportunities are open exclusively to current third-year degree students who are required to complete an internship or work placement as a mandatory part of their degree program /coursework. Applicants must be returning to their studies following the internship and be able to provide confirmation from their educational institution that the placement forms part of their course requirements.

Position Overview

Support the design, development, and deployment of data and analytical solutions by assisting senior engineers with technical tasks, learning best practices, and contributing to high-quality deliverables. Work under mentorship to develop data engineering skills and gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and platforms, including AI-assisted development and analytics tools.

Technical Skills

  • 1+ years experience with SQL or demonstrated proficiency through coursework

  • Familiarity with at least one ETL/ELT tool (Informatica, TIBCO, SSIS, etc.) or willingness to learn

  • Basic understanding of BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Business Objects

  • Exposure to or interest in cloud platforms like AWS or Snowflake

  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts preferred

  • Experience or interest in AI-assisted development tools and code generation platforms

  • Familiarity with data profiling and quality tools that leverage AI/ML for anomaly detection

Key Skills

  • Foundational understanding of data concepts and analytical thinking

  • Ability to follow technical procedures and ask clarifying questions

  • Basic problem-solving skills with eagerness to learn from feedback

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Awareness of how AI tools can enhance data quality, automation, and insights

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of data solutions under senior engineer guidance

  • Support ETL/ELT development and data pipeline maintenance

  • Utilize AI-assisted tools for code development, documentation, and troubleshooting under mentorship

  • Help create and maintain technical documentation

  • Participate in data analysis, validation, and quality assurance activities

  • Support data profiling and anomaly detection using AI-powered tools

  • Troubleshoot and debug issues with support and mentorship

  • Learn and apply Agile best practices in day-to-day work

  • Augment and prepare data sets for analysis under supervision

  • Contribute ideas and ask questions to understand the "data-first" approach

  • Support senior engineers in project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a BS/BA program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Foundational knowledge of database concepts and SQL

  • Demonstrated interest in data engineering and analytical solutions

  • Openness to learning and working with AI-powered tools and platforms

  • No prior professional experience required; eagerness to learn is essential

**Interns in this position will work fully on-site at our Waterford office for the duration of their internship. **
