The temporary Student Learning Center Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Marriott Student Learning Center, ensuring an exceptional and student-centered experience for students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and visitors. This highly collaborative role serves as a key partner across the college, providing operational leadership for facility management, student staffing, customer service, technology support, and event coordination. The Office of Student Services is the central hub supporting the academic, professional, and co-curricular experience for all students in the Nolan School. OSS services as a key connection oint between student, faculty, and staff, ensuring a cohesive and supportive environment throughout the student journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the Marriott Student Learning Center, ensuring exceptional service, efficient space utilization, and a positive user experience.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise student employees while fostering a culture of professionalism and customer service excellence.
- Coordinate academic, recruiting, conference, and event space needs in partnership with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational, facility, technology, and service-related inquiries and escalations.
- Partner with library, IT, facilities, and event teams to ensure seamless delivery of resources, services, and technology support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness, service quality, and the overall student experience.

- Bachelors' degree and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating programs, operations, events, or facility-related activities.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supervising, training, or mentoring student employees.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard business software and technology tools.

- Experience working in higher education, student services, event operations, or facility management.
- Experience coordinating facility scheduling or event logistics.
- Familiarity with technology-enabled learning, meeting, or event spaces.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), four-month term position based in Ithaca, NY, with the potential for extension based on funding availability, business needs, and satisfactory performance. The position is fully on-site and offers an hourly rate of$31.47 to $35.00, commensurate with education and experience. Regular work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. This position is not benefits eligible.
