The successful candidate will assist in the development and maintenance of Telecommunications. UseÂ
knowledge of telecommunications systems to help support, install, monitor and maintainÂ
telecommunications infrastructure. Under general supervision, design voice and data communicationÂ
systems, supervise installation of these systems, and provide maintenance and service to clients afterÂ
installation. Support and assists in day-to-day operations and administration telecommunicationsÂ
systems. Define and document user requirements, design/recommend network solutions, andÂ
coordinate their implementation. Perform activities to complete service requests and resolve problemsÂ
as directed including hardware and software installations and respond to user support requests.
Telecommunications technicians work in a complex environment supporting a variety of serviceÂ
including Contact Center, Call Flows, IVR’s, Field and office phone system, Fire Alarms and elevatorÂ
voice services.
The communications team installs and supports the infrastructure used for all types ofÂ
telecommunications in support of our contact center, office service, and [property/field service,Â
including the layer 1 fiber and copper data network cabling infrastructure, operational voice (bothÂ
wired and wireless systems), elevator, alarm systems, IOT devices other systems involved in realtime communications and operations.
• Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and document test results for fiber, network, audio, video, andÂ
RF cabling
• Perform and support continuity checks, locate and correct wiring errors using measuringÂ
instruments
• Investigate, diagnose, correct, and document instrumentation or system malfunctions
• Perform complex technical assignments involving communications systems, instrumentation andÂ
data acquisition/processing systems
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data
• Performing regular maintenance tasks such as software updates, hardware repairs, and systemÂ
backups to ensure that telecommunications systems operate reliably and efficiently
• Identifying and resolving technical issues with telecommunications systems and equipment toÂ
ensure that they are functioning properly.
• Creating and maintaining documentation related to telecommunications systems and equipmentÂ
including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
• Collaborating the other IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure that telecommunicationsÂ
systems meet business requirements and align with overall IT strateg
2+ years’ experience of specialized training in electronic technology or closely related field or oneÂ
year installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fiber optics, copper cabling (RF, Ethernet),Â
network and telephony installation, and BPX/ audio/video systems.
• Proven experience working as telecommunications technician.
• Sound knowledge of telecommunications systems
