Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specification or customer requirements/budget in order to achieve both market competitiveness and the expected margin level for the Company. Each day, you will maintain and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers that are present in the area of responsibility. You will also showcase your expertise by formulating competitive bids, estimates, and quotations with the best product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations, ensuring timely, detailed proposals that include full and accurate costs.

This role is contributing to the Automation, Marine and Ports, Navy and Coast Guard Segment.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Calculating a budget value for the sales team or customer to evaluate customer willingness to invest using appropriate level of details.
• Managing the preparation of all technical and commercial documentation (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis), indicating prices and trading conditions.
• Collaborates with sales teams and engages with customers when required.
• Ensuring that, in accordance with bid/estimate/quotation planning, inputs for editing activities are provided on time and follow established quality procedures.

Qualifications for the role

• A bachelor's degree in an engineering field and 8 years of experience, or a Technical Associate's degree and 10 years of experience in either project management, project engineering or proposals.
• Strong electrical systems capability with Marine applications.
• Ability to understand and appropriately size electrical equipment based upon customer requirements.
• Experience reading and responding to US Government (Navy/USCG) RFQ’s, and ability to demonstrate a record of successful submissions.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
