The Opportunity
This position works out of our Hollywood, FL location in the Structural Heart division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.
This position provides financial leadership and oversight to enable execution of a wide range of financial and decision support responsibilities for Abbott Structural Heart across the CALA region. The incumbent will lead and participate in the short- and long-range planning and execution of CALA Structural Heart strategic and tactical initiatives.
The position will partner with others across the CALA region, BU functions and Finance functions (such as CFS, Treasury, Global Trade compliance and other corporate functions) across the day to day activities of managing financial performance and enabling delivery of planned results through solid, timely and accurate execution of established strategies and tactics.
This position will report directly to the Structural Heart DVP Controller, have significant interaction with CALA management and affiliate teams as well as members of the Structural Heart HQ finance team and corporate functions.

Proven ability to accurately forecast business results and to diagnose market and competitive trends. Effectively recognize business risks/detect early warnings signs. Ability to link strategy to driven-based forecasting, including development of KPI’s to monitor process towards end objectives. What You’ll Work On
- Lead the development, enhancement, and execution of financial planning, forecasting, and performance management processes, ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and actionable insights that support effective decision-making by senior leadership.
- Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring compliance with Division and Corporate, while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial results.
- Prepare financial analyses, including income statement performance, working capital metrics (DSO, DOH), Capex reporting, and key business drivers, providing recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled, reviewed, and supported on a timely basis. Analyzing fluctuations, identifying underlying drivers, and communicating findings and/or corrective actions to CFS.
- Ensure adequate internal controls are established ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and financial governance standards across all countries within the region.
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and other cross-functional teams, providing financial guidance on pricing strategies, contract negotiations, business opportunities, investments, and risk management initiatives.
- Lead the region budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, including revenue, operating expenses, capex, investments, balance sheet planning, and strategic initiatives. Monitor performance against plans and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
- Drive financial and business performance analysis to support operational and commercial decision making.
- Develop, coach, and mentor finance personnel, fostering a high performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, customer service, collaboration, and talent development.
- Validate and approve quarterly, and annual incentive compensation calculations, ensuring the accuracy of sales performance data, attainment results, commission accruals, and payout amounts.
- Act as the trusted financial advisor to regional leadership team, proactively challenging assumptions, identifying opportunities for profitable growth, and ensuring that business decisions align with the division's financial objectives and strategic priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience across the areas of financial reporting, cost accounting, internal controls and procedures, and/or project management. Must have a minimum of 2+ years’ experience managing teams (preferably experienced in leading regional teams with remote setup).
- Professional proficiency in English required. Spanish proficiency is a differentiator.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to manage complex market dynamics on ongoing basis
- Experience in developing financial models and scenario planning according to operating needs and growth strategies.
- Strong leadership competencies to set vision and strategy, build and inspire, know the business, drive for results, make the difficult decisions, and encourage an open transparent environment.
- Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint skills and previous experience with HFM/Dodeca is a plus
- Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to manage interactions across a matrix organization operating in CALA as well as all external stakeholders/contacts (including FP&A, Shared Services, CFS and Divisional Management)
- Ability to set the appropriate financial compliance tone and adherence to company policies and procedures to solve routine problems and exercise independent decision making where necessary.
- Able to work under pressure, consistently meeting business deliverables and deadlines.
