The Opportunity with McKinstry
We're hiring: Technology Solutions Analyst | McKinstry Construction Division (Pacific Northwest)
McKinstry's Construction Technology team is looking for a Technology Solutions Analyst to lead AI initiatives for our BIM/VDC and detailing groups, identifying where AI can improve their work and evaluating, piloting, and building the tools that do it.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the primary AI partner for BIM Detailing, VDC, and other assigned business units, designing and deploying AI tools that improve their processes.
- Evaluate and pilot AI and automation technologies, with documented build/buy/configure recommendations.
- Translate pain points into requirements and manage external consultants or vendors when needed.
- Coordinate across the team to prevent duplicate effort and build repeatable playbooks for AI rollouts.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in a technology-focused role (business/solutions analysis, product management, or technology implementation). VDC/BIM technology roles count toward this.
- Working knowledge of generative AI/LLM platforms, prompt design, and automation patterns.
- Experience running pilots, gathering requirements, documenting recommendations, and managing vendors.
- Strong communication with technical and operational audiences; proficiency with Microsoft 365.
What will set you apart:
- Hands-on experience building AI tools, agents, or automation workflows.
- Experience with Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Procore, or Stratus, or a background in construction/AEC.
- Exposure to Power Platform or Azure; certifications such as PMP, CBAP, or AI/ML credentials.
If you understand how BIM work gets done and want to shape how AI supports it, we'd like to hear from you.
