The Technology Operations & Compliance Lead is responsible for the internal ownership and continuous improvement of GEQ’s technology environment. This position works across the business to understand technology, systems, data, and operational needs and drives solutions from identification through implementation, training, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
This role serves as GEQ’s primary internal connection with its MSP, software providers, developers, consultants, and other technology vendors. The position owns GEQ’s technology priorities, projects, systems, compliance activities, vendor coordination, and follow-through while outside providers perform specialized technical services.
This position requires someone who becomes deeply embedded in GEQ’s operation, develops strong knowledge of the business and its systems, and proactively identifies opportunities to improve technology, data, processes, security, and employee effectiveness.
Business Systems, ERP & Data
- Own the internal administration and continuous improvement of GEQ business systems, including Infor Visual, Experlogix, electronic forms, reporting tools, website applications, automation/AI platforms, and future systems.
- Develop deep knowledge of Infor Visual, its database structure, GEQ business processes, and how data flows throughout the organization.
- Create, modify, troubleshoot, and validate Visual and Crystal Reports and improve management reporting and data accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to integrate systems, eliminate unnecessary spreadsheets and duplicate data entry, and automate information flow.
- Coordinate system upgrades, integrations, testing, implementation, training, and post-implementation support.
Technology Operations & Vendor Management
- Serve as GEQ’s primary internal liaison with its MSP and other technology vendors and own priorities, escalations, projects, approvals, and follow-through.
- Manage technology vendor relationships, contracts, renewals, commitments, performance, and costs.
- Maintain accountability for GEQ technology assets and coordinate hardware lifecycle, purchasing, deployment, reassignment, and secure disposal.
- Own technology requirements for employee onboarding, transfers, role changes, and offboarding.
- Coordinate technology throughout GEQ’s office and shop, including computers, tablets, displays, conference rooms, test stands, scanners, printers, cameras, Wi-Fi, and manufacturing-related technology.
- Serve as GEQ’s internal owner during significant technology incidents and drive issues through resolution.
CMMC, Cybersecurity & Technology Governance
- Own GEQ’s internal CMMC and technology-compliance program in coordination with leadership, the MSP, employees, and outside experts.
- Maintain required documentation and evidence and track compliance requirements, risks, gaps, remediation, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate technology policies, access controls, cybersecurity awareness, and technology security requirements.
- Evaluate new software, devices, AI tools, and technology for security, data protection, CMMC, integration, and business risks.
- Establish and enforce appropriate technology and AI-use standards, including protection of company, customer, employee, controlled, confidential, and other sensitive information.
Process Improvement, Automation & Technology Development
- Work throughout GEQ to understand how work is performed and identify opportunities to improve processes through technology, automation, data, and AI.
- Research and evaluate new technology based on business requirements, security, integration, cost, and long-term value.
- Work closely with the Manager of Strategic Projects & Systems, with this position primarily owning technology, systems, data, and technical implementation.
- Lead technology implementation, testing, employee training, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
- Maintain visibility into software, licensing, subscriptions, costs, renewals, and usage and identify opportunities to eliminate unnecessary or duplicate technology.
- Maintain and improve GEQ’s website and support development of future e-commerce and client-facing technology.
Technology Planning, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain visibility over GEQ’s technology, systems, integration, and compliance initiatives and drive actions through completion.
- Anticipate technology needs created by business growth, hiring, equipment, system limitations, security requirements, and operational changes.
- Maintain internal documentation of systems, configurations, reports, integrations, processes, technology vendors, assets, and significant technology decisions.
- Work directly with employees throughout the office and shop to identify technology needs, improve adoption, and discover opportunities that may not have been formally requested.
- Make decisions within established authority and bring significant financial, strategic, or risk decisions to leadership with recommendations.
- Provide Visual, reporting, system knowledge, training, and upgrade assistance to Ideal Electric when appropriate while maintaining separation between GEQ and Ideal IT ownership.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technology operations, ERP/business systems, systems administration, technology project management, business applications, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, business data, reporting, system configuration, and integrations.
- Experience working with MSPs, software providers, developers, consultants, and technology vendors.
- Ability to understand business needs, translate them into technology requirements, and drive solutions through implementation and adoption.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, project ownership, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work effectively with employees at all levels in both office and manufacturing environments.Â
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Business, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Infor Visual or another manufacturing ERP system.
- Experience with SQL/database structures and Crystal Reports or similar reporting tools.
- Experience with CMMC, NIST 800-171, cybersecurity, or technology compliance.
- Experience with systems integration, automation, AI, electronic forms, and manufacturing technology environments.
Ability to work throughout an office and manufacturing environment and use standard computer and technology equipment. Occasional lifting or movement of technology equipment may be required.
This position works throughout GEQ’s office, manufacturing, warehouse, and operational environments and requires regular interaction with employees at their workstations and on the shop floor.
Full-time; flexibility may be required to support critical technology implementations, upgrades, incidents, cybersecurity events, or business needs.
