The ideal candidate is an engineering-focused problem solver who proactively identifies and mitigates risks before they become incidents. They leverage database expertise, automation, and emerging AI technologies to improve operational effectiveness, build scalable and reusable solutions, and drive continuous improvement across complex database environments. They are comfortable working across multiple database platforms and thrive in a culture of innovation, experimentation, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications
• 5-10 years of experience supporting enterprise database platforms, with hands-on expertise in at least one of the following: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Yugabyte.
• Strong understanding of:
o Database administration and operational support
o SQL and database query optimization
o Performance tuning and diagnostics
o Execution plans and query analysis
o Database health monitoring and troubleshooting
o High availability, backup, recovery, and resiliency concepts
o Capacity planning and performance management
• Experience working with database performance analysis and monitoring tools appropriate to the supported platform.
• Experience identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, configuration issues, and operational risks across large-scale database environments.
• Experience developing automation solutions for database administration, operational support, and engineering workflows.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear operational recommendations and actionable remediation plans.
• Experience working in production environments with a focus on reliability, availability, security, and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
AI & Automation
• Understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol), agentic AI architectures, agent-to-agent workflows, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and generative AI concepts.
• Familiarity with AI governance, explainability, and trusted data practices.
• Experience applying AI and automation technologies to operational engineering challenges.

• Experience with AI-enabled database capabilities across modern database platforms.
• Understanding of:
o Vector search and vector databases
o AI-assisted query and application development
o Built-in AI services and intelligent database features
o Machine learning and analytics capabilities within database platforms
o Semantic search and knowledge retrieval concepts

Programming & Software Engineering
• Experience with Python for:
o Data analysis
o API integration
o Workflow automation
o AI and data engineering frameworks
• Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating with enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with Git-based development workflows and modern software engineering practices.
• Knowledge of JSON, structured data exchange, and automation frameworks.
