Briefing Call Notes:
Role overview
- Position: Technical Program Manager (TPM) โ€” based in Dublin (role to work directly with Dublin networking team)
- Objective: Plan and coordinate global deployments of TypeSync network appliances to increase redundancy and resiliency across multiple data centers.
- Assignment length: Short-term/contract-like timeline mentioned โ€” roughly 9 months (project-focused).
- Environment: Live/production data centers (not new build). Deployments must avoid disrupting production traffic.

Key responsibilities
- Create a comprehensive deployment plan:
- Inventory and list locations where appliances need to be deployed.
- Confirm space and facilities availability at each site.
- Build a detailed project plan covering schedule, resources, safety, and coordination.
- Coordinate global on-the-ground activities:
- Work closely with local data center teams and internal customers (service team in Washington DC).
- Ensure timely and safe installations; coordinate across time zones.
- Communicate and report:
- Produce monthly business reviews and other stakeholder reports.
- Represent the project to stakeholders and internal customers.
- Drive execution:
- Lead execution with minimal hand-holding; the candidate must be self-sufficient and able to run the program independently.

Required/desired skills and experience
- Strong TPM background preferred โ€” experience managing deployments is emphasized.
- Networking understanding:
- Enough networking knowledge to comprehend enterprise-style networks (core, distribution, access layers) and to coordinate with network/data center engineers.
- Prior telecom or data center deployment experience is beneficial but not strictly required if TPM has deployment experience.
- Hands-on deployment experience in live production environments is important โ€” familiarity with constraints, safety mechanisms, and working with local teams.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, ability to work autonomously across time zones.
- Preference for candidates who have worked with network or data center engineers on-site (experience working with people โ€œon the groundโ€).

Team and stakeholders
- Direct team: Networking team in Dublin (primary collaboration).
- Internal customer: Service team owning appliances in Washington DC โ€” some overlap/collaboration expected (approx. 4-hour time difference).
- Hiring manager: Linda (Seattle) will interview finalists; backup manager may interview if time zone conflicts.
- Recruiting/coordination: Amjad/Amjit will coordinate candidate submissions and scheduling.

Interview process
- Initial screening by Nova DPN (recruiting/screening stage).
- Follow-up interviews:
- 1โ€“2 TPM interviewers (technical/programmatic assessment).
- Interview with hiring manager (Linda) or a designated backup manager (depending on availability/time zones).
- Linda will provide names of recommended interviewers for the first-round screening.
- Candidates will be submitted via the vendor system (B-line referenced); Amjad will coordinate candidate flow and scheduling.

Project context and rationale
- This role was created to meet additional demand to improve network resiliency and is not a replacement for a prior team member.
- The project was not planned originally for the year but was added to increase redundancy by adding appliances globally.

Logistics / constraints
- Time zone differences across Seattle, Dublin, and Washington DC โ€” candidate must be able to work asynchronously and overlap when necessary.
- Deployments occur in production environments โ€” strong emphasis on safety and minimal disruption.
