What to Expect
The Service Engineering team is responsible for the health and performance of every residential energy storage product deployed in the field. We ensure our new energy products are serviceable before they launch and remain healthy throughout their life.Â
We are looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support serviceability reviews during product development, help plan and execute field trials, analyse early fleet data to identify trends, and coordinate service readiness deliverables across multiple teams in APAC.
Collaborating effectively with Operations and other Engineering teams, you will use your engineering background to understand the product requirements, technical risks, and validation strategy to accelerate the development process. Â
This is not a Project Manager role. This is a newly created role where you own the serviceability of new products pre-launch and manage any service campaigns required across APAC. You will get close to the product, the data, and the field.Â
This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide.Â
What You’ll Do
- Lead serviceability reviews of new residential energy products with engineering and operations, analysing system logs, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics and providing actionable design feedback during concept and prototype phases.Â
- Plan and execute installation pilots, field trials, and service validation exercises. Synthesize feedback from early deployments to drive improvements in product robustness and commissioning processes.
- Lead fleet-wide service campaigns at scale, including field retrofits and warehouse rework campaigns. Own population scoping, containment, execution planning with operations, recovery tracking, and driving programs to closure.Â
- Develop service documentation, training content, commissioning instructions, and replacement workflows by translating product design and firmware behavior into field-ready deliverables with engineering and operations.Â
- Analyse fleet, service, and operations data using SQL, dashboards, statistical tools, and structured reporting to identify trends, prioritize risks, and recommend design or firmware changes.Â
- Own early-life issue tracking and root cause resolution by building and maintaining systems for escalation, containment, and recovery. Interface with operations, production, quality, and firmware teams to ensure field learnings are incorporated into product updates.Â
- Drive service readiness across engineering, global service, tooling, training, field operations, and platform teams. Track and communicate progress, blockers, and decision points.Â
- Support global service teams with troubleshooting workflows, diagnostic procedures, and rapid response on top fleet issues during early launches, with engineering and operations.Â
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or related technical field Â
- 3+ years’ experience in product engineering, service engineering, field quality, or technical program management.Â
- Demonstrated experience in 2 or more of the following: Product Design, Service Operations, Manufacturing, Testing and Validation, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), or Technical Program Management.Â
- Comfortable interpreting telemetry data, operations data, and diagnostic outputs.Â
- Ability to collaborate effectively with operations teams and with hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams.Â
- Proficient in SQL or Python for data engineering and analysis of fleet data. Experience building or working with data pipelines, dashboards, or statistical tools.Â
- Strong communication and presentation skills. Experienced with Jira, Confluence, and cross-functional program tracking.Â
- In-depth knowledge of electrical or mechanical engineering, power conversion is preferredÂ
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive alignment in a fast-paced environment.Â
