Position Summary
The Technical Displays Specialist is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and supporting technical product demonstrations used for sales activities, trade shows, customer visits, and marketing initiatives. This role combines hands-on technical work with project coordination to ensure demonstration equipment is functional, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Design, source, build, wire, program, and maintain product demonstrations, trade show displays, and other technical marketing assets.
- Prepare and maintain industry-focused functional product demonstrations for sales activities, customer visits, and trade shows.
- Execute demonstration strategies in collaboration with Marketing, Product Marketing, and Industry Management teams.
- Maintain and support demonstration equipment, including displays used in the Demo Van, ensuring functionality and readiness for use.
- Develop new and maintain existing sales demonstration materials and supporting documentation, including exhibit user manuals, demo sheets, bills of material, and other required documentation.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Balluff products and emerging technologies through ongoing training and collaboration with Product Marketing Managers.
- Work closely with Product Marketing Management to prepare demonstrations and materials for trade shows, sales events, and other marketing activities.
- Ensure demonstration equipment and displays are functional, packed, staged, and delivered in accordance with project timelines.
- Attend trade shows and events as assigned to support setup, teardown, and demonstration activities.
- Coordinate and support customer visits, student visits, and other onsite demonstration activities.
- Assist other employees in the accomplishment of their assigned responsibilities as requested.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and hands-on technical workspace.
- Frequent computer use, including Microsoft Office applications and technical design software.
- Mechanical assembly work utilizing basic hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Travel is typically 5-10% to support trade shows, sales events, customer visits, and related activities.
- Position is based onsite at Balluff's Florence, KY facility and requires residence within a reasonable commuting distance.

Qualifications
What You Bring
- Two-year technical degree required; Engineering Technology or a related technical field preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience with industrial automation equipment or construction/fabrication experience within an industrial environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the use of internet-based business tools.
- SolidWorks experience required.
- Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLC programming experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools required.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, machine shop equipment, or technical fabrication activities preferred.
- Electrical panel build experience preferred.
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and meet project deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
