Technical Designer

Key Responsibilities 

Design Preparation: 

• Design systems for commercial and industrial purposes, ensuring designaligns with system guidelines and projectscope / BOQ. 

• Adhere to the quoted budget costs and aim to increase project profitability through valued engineering, create variation opportunities and upselling. 

• Assist in all project aspects frominception to completion, including the updating of the contract BOQ with the approved drawings, value engineering, commissioning, and project documentation for designed systems. 

• Conduct site surveys and assessments to oversee the installation quality and ensure functionality of the designed and installed system. 

DesignCollaboration andCoordination:

• Develop and implement internal design guides, procedures, tools, and documents. 
• Plan, design, and cost engineer projectsin accordance with company policies andprocedures 
• Continuously communicate withclients and internally with all stakeholders, including project managers and design engineers when assigned on the job. 

Workload Management:

• Pre-planjobs and deploy a prioritised work schedule withappropriate time deadlines, overseeing the commissioning process to ensure seamless system integration and functionality. 
• Set, monitor, review work-load schedule, proactively communicating issues to the manager as they arise. 

• Maintain organised technical and non-technical documents, ensuring all engineering data is updated and easily accessible to all team members. 
  

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Monitor project progress,identifying and resolvingdesignissues to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards. 
• Oversee project activities, ensuringappropriate methods areemployed and company standards (ISO, LPCB) are implemented. 
• Ensure effective functionalityof designed fire protection and security systems. 

Required Qualifications & Experience 

• Preferably possess a Diploma in engineering or any other field related to fire fighting and security systems. 
• Proven experience in designing fire protection and security systems for commercial and industrial purposes. 
• Proficiency in usingAutoCad software. 

• Valid Maltese driving license.

Consistently punctual and reliable in meeting deadlines and commitments. 

Proficiency in usingAutoCad software. 

Basic knowledge of other trades and be able to interpret other M&E drawings. 

Proficiency in relevant software tools and design methodologies.
