What You'll Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, sustainability, health & safety science, engineering, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of EHS experience in consulting or industry, ideally with exposure in Canada and internationally.
- Proven ability to assess EHS management systems across high-hazard sectors (mining, oil & gas, petrochemicals, pulp & paper, power generation).
- Strong understanding of Canadian EHS regulatory requirements.
- Experience with EHS risk identification, assessment, and management.
- Experience leading incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Experience leading EHS audits.
- Dynamic communication skills with the ability to engage senior leaders and frontline teams alike.
- Willingness to travel on multi-day audits.
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in environmental, sustainability, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of EHS experience preferred in consulting or industry, ideally with exposure in Canada and internationally.
- Lead auditor training in ISO-based standards (ISO 19011, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Professional certifications such as EP (EMS LA), EP (CEA), CSRP, P.Eng., or similar.
- Familiarity with data analytics and digital solutions for EHS systems.
- Bilingual in French, Spanish, and/or English.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead audits for EHS compliance, management systems, and sustainability frameworks, either independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Develop strategies, processes, and tools that strengthen client EHS programs and support long-term operational excellence.
- Support ERM’s Safe and Sustainable Operations team in meeting international mining standards, including ICMM, CopperMark, Cyanide Code, and TSM requirements.
- Manage national and global projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, quality, and client service.
- Deliver training programs, in-field coaching, and impactful presentations that support organizational learning and capability building.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships that drive repeat business, trusted partnerships, and long-term growth.
- Collaborate across ERM’s global network to share best practices, leverage technical expertise, and develop innovative solutions for complex EHS challenges.
For theTechnical Consulting Director, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Auditor and Risk Specialist (Casual)position, the anticipated hourly base pay is$74.18 - $99.57 (CAD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay subject to the sole discretion of ERM and its policies and procedures(casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
