What does a successful AS400 Programmer Analyst do?

A successful AS400 Programmer Analyst drives the continuity and evolution of critical solutions that support reliable and efficient financial operations. In this role, you will provide technical expertise to analyze requirements, develop enhancements, and resolve incidents with quality, speed, and a customer-focused approach. We are looking for someone with strong analytical thinking, expertise in IBM iSeries environments, and the ability to collaborate effectively with local and remote teams. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining stable, scalable solutions aligned with business needs.

What you will do:
• Analyze client requirements and translate them into clear, functional technical solutions aligned with program standards.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance IBM iSeries (AS400) applications using platform tools and programming languages.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve software incidents, functional inquiries, and enhancement requests with minimal supervision.
• Execute testing, document solutions, and validate results to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with project managers, users, and remote teams to communicate progress, priorities, and risks in a timely manner.
• Support client training and help users understand implemented solutions.
• Comply with internal policies, development processes, and change management controls established by the organization.
• Provide after-hours support, collaborate across different time zones, and travel when required.

What you need:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience programming on IBM iSeries (AS400) using RPG, RPGIV, RPG ILE, SQLRPG, and CLLE.
• 4 years of experience using IBM iSeries ADTS tools such as SEU, RLU, and SDA.
• 3 years of experience with debugging, impact analysis, and incident resolution in AS400 environments.
• 3 years of experience using source control or change management tools such as Aldon CMS.
• 3 years of experience collaborating in English and Spanish with remote teams and internal or external clients.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 4 years of experience supporting critical enterprise applications in high-demand environments.
• 3 years of experience documenting requirements, test cases, and technical solutions.
• 3 years of experience working under delivery methodologies with changing priorities and time-sensitive deadlines.
• 2 years of experience training users or clients on implemented functionalities and solutions.
• 2 years of experience in operations and maintenance of services on the IBM iSeries platform.
