This position is 75% remote and all candidates must reside inOhio, Michigan, Indiana or Kentucky. The hiring manager is open candidates relocating to one of the residing states as well.

TheTechnical Account Manager is a customer-facing technical expert responsible for supportingflexographic packaging accounts in a highly competitive ink market. This role partners closely with Sales tostabilize customer accounts, support retention, and resolve technical challenges related to ink performance and pressroom operations.
This position isnot a quota-carrying sales role. Instead, the Technical Account Manager focuses ontechnical support, process optimization, troubleshooting, and customer relationship management across wide webflexographic and gravure printing operations.
The ideal candidate combinesdeep technical knowledge of inks and printing processes with the ability to collaborate acrosssales, R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to deliver tailored solutions for flexible packaging customers.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Customer Support
- Manage and leadtechnical service support for wide web flexographic and gravure customers.
- Ensure optimal performance ofwater-based and solvent-based ink product lines used in flexible packaging.
- Conducton-site troubleshooting, ink optimization, and product performance evaluations.
- Diagnose and resolveprint defects, color issues, and process inefficiencies.
- Coordinate and leadpress trials, product introductions, and technical audits at customer facilities.
- Evaluate ink performance acrossdifferent substrates, drying systems, and press conditions.
- Work closely withR&D, Sales, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to deliver customer-specific technical solutions.
- Support new product development and implementation initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships withkey technical and operational stakeholders at customer sites.
- Serve as theprimary technical contact for assigned accounts.
- Develop technical service strategies that supportcustomer retention, operational stability, and growth.
- Assist sales teams in strengthening technical credibility with customers.
- Maintain detailedtechnical service reports, troubleshooting logs, and documentation.
- Provide insights to internal teams to supportcontinuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance withenvironmental, safety, and regulatory standards, including:
- VOC regulations
- Solvent handling procedures
- Product stewardship requirements.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in one of the following:
- Chemistry
- Printing Technology
- Chemical Engineering
- Materials Science
- Related technical field
- 5+ years of technical experience supportingflexographic and/or gravure printing operations
- Experience working withwater-based and solvent-based inks in flexible packaging environments
- Proven ability tolead customer-facing technical engagements
- Experience performingpress trials, troubleshooting, and technical audits
- Strong understanding ofpressroom operations and printing workflows
- Experience working acrosstechnical, sales, and manufacturing teams
- Wide webflexographic printing processes
- Gravure printing technologies
- Ink and substrate interaction
- Drying systems and press optimization
- Color matching and defect analysis
- Surface treatments and print adhesion
- Flexible packaging materials and coatings
- Experience withcolor management systems (e.g., X-Rite)
- Understanding oflamination and coating processes
- Knowledge ofpost-print converting processes
- Familiarity withVOC compliance and environmental regulations
- Experience working inink, coatings, or specialty chemical industries
