ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Description:

As Facility Technician, in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on time. It includes fixing machinery, plumbing, heating, and wiring, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with the building’s inhabitants.

Responsibilities:

• Inspecting buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.

• Repairing faulty equipment units and damaged structures.

• Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door, or wall repair.

• Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.

• Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.

• Managing heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.

• Planning and scheduling repairs.

• Conducting periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.

• Performing general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.

• Helping develop and implement the budget for the facility maintenance department.

• Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies.

• Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.

• Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or broken wire occurs

• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.

• Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent qualification

• Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is preferred

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role

• Fluent inAmharic (Write and Verbal is mandatory)
