Job Title: 3rd Shift Team Leader (Production)

Location: Des Moines Works - Ankeny, Iowa
Duration: 24 Months on W2 contract
Shift: 3rd shift (9:30 pm to 6:00 am) Sunday night to Friday morning - overtime likely
 
Job Description
 
Your Responsibilities:
 
  • Manage and monitor individual and departmental production and employee performance on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency and take corrective action including discipline as needed
  • Establish the employee environment regarding communications, feedback, and overall guidance
  • Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction, and the tools necessary to successfully execute their jobs
  • Drive department-level support of factory goals regarding 5S implementation, Continuous Improvement, manpower planning, and operating budgets
 
Skills
 
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions and being proactive in high-pressure or time-sensitive environments
  • Ability to conduct crucial conversations, including ability to enforce company policies, practices, procedures, and work rules
  • Demonstrated experience driving cross-functional performance and teamwork in situations without authority
 
Makes you stand out:
 
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing lean manufacturing techniques to drive business improvements
  • Two or more years of experience with shop floor manufacturing and incentive pay systems (such as CIPP)
  • Cross-functional work experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Material Control, or Supply Management
  • Possess a good working knowledge of the appropriate operating and information systems used in Operations (Word, Excel, SAP, SharePoint, PowerBI)
 
Education
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Operations, Business Management, Supply Management, Maintenance, or equivalent related work experiences
 
Work Details:
 
  • Onsite only (no remote)
  • Business casual dress code
  • Interview preference: Teams but will consider onsite if candidate is local
  • Will need metatarsal safety boots for first day
  • This is a shop floor position so candidates must be comfortable in this environment
 
Other Notes:
 
  • Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the future, for this position
  • Fully onsite; candidate must be comfortable with factory environment and occasional intra-facility travel
 
Regarding Driving: This position may drive a Clientsowned Gator inside the factory to get from the office area to a different office area in another part of the factory (all connected and indoors). Worker will need to successfully complete Clientssafety training to be approved to drive this. They will transport their computer or parts/tools. Other workers could ride along if they are going to the same areas due to limited number of available Gators. This would not be driven outside. May also drive their personal vehicle to other facilities within a 20-mile radius. Rental cars are not used for this travel.
