Title: Team Leader FLSA Category: Hourly

Reports to: Production Manager
Summary of Responsibilities:
Oversees and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in the production of and participates in the set-up and troubleshooting by performing the following duties:
- Performs jobs assigned utilizing safe operation methods. Reports any unsafe condition to Management. Uses and keeps in good condition all personal protective equipment required for assignment. Performs start-up safety checks as required.
- Possesses knowledge of overall company goals and objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Possesses knowledge of plant operations, equipment, and machinery within assigned department. Ability to distinguish between the different operations and trouble shoot minor problems.
- Interacts with support departments and personnel as necessary to ensure performance of machinery/equipment, adherence to schedules, employee relations, quality of products and raw materials, etc. Informs Management of any circumstances that may impact the quality, safety, production, etc.
- Maintains acceptable quality standards in accordance with customer requirements and as directed by Management.
- Handles conflicts within team/department and conducts disciplinary action.
- Presents and maintains accurate records, including but not limited to, inventory, production reports and labor reporting.
- Assists Management in organizing, training, and motivating an effective workforce to meet production objectives.
- Makes job assignments and adjusts workforce within established work procedures to meet production schedules. Verifies employee work time.
- Works with team and leads team to meet or exceed performance expectations to support customer requirements.
- Assists Management with continuous improvement efforts in production.
- Observes and complies with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations associated with this job.
- Aids in identifying training needs. Attends and participates in all scheduled training and educational programs identified for this position.
- Conducts housekeeping for personal work area and shared facility space through 5s.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Basic Math, Reading and Writing skillsrequired.
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendancerequired.
- Ability to motivate others to meet production scheduling requirements
- Extensive knowledge of running of production equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Extremely organized and analytical with relentless attention to detail.
- Proven ability to multi-task and finish projects accurately and on time.
- Able to troubleshoot as needed
Education/Certifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)preferred; and a minimum of five years related experience working in production as operator.
