Community Benefit Educator PRN

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

Community Benefiteducator will ensure general education and/or certification needs are met duringcourses andcreatereport withpublic on injury prevention topics.

• Director of Marketing and Community Benefit

Minimum Education:* Safe Sitter certification if teaching Safe Sitter course

License/Certification Required:none 

Minimum Work Experience: none 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

•  Must be able to havegood communication skills and positive attitude when discussing topics for education to the public. Must be certified in Safe Sitter if teaching Safe Sitter course. Education to be provided through ETCH if needed. Will work closely with Director ofCommunity Benefit for resources and communication needed for events.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide hands-on training to community of trainees 

• Teach proper techniques to adultsand children for each injury prevention topic event 

• Excellent communication skills both within organization and in community 

• Represent East Tennessee Children’s Hospital with the up most respect as this is a public facing role.  

• Be able to transport training materials forevents. 

• Be able to work withDirector of Community Benefit but also independently forevents/classes if needed 

• If teaching Safe Sitter must be able to manage trainees duringtrainings and ensure they are attentive for teachings.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS-Note: Reasonableaccommodations may bemade for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. 

• Moderate lifting, pushing, and pulling isrequired up to 50lbs occasionally, 20-30lbsfrequently.. Frequent bending, walking, sitting squatting, reaching, and standing arerequired. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may berequired.
