About The Client:
A British multinational alcoholic beverage company with its headquarters in London, England. It operates from 132 sites around the world. It is a major distributor of Scotch whisky and other spirits. Distilleries owned by Client produce 40% of all Scotch whisky with over 24 brands.
About The Job:
- This role will support the tax function for DBSI/Global tax processes/initiatives for the APAC region.
- This role involves working closely with business teams and manage the local Corporate Tax, Transfer pricing and GST Compliance for DBSI.
- Being part of Global tax function, this role works closely with various Global tax teams for processes such as previous year adjustment, uncertain tax positions, tax controls, Tax provision, Deferred Tax and reporting for DBSI and supports similar processes for few other APAC markets.
- The role will have two direct reports (Tax Specialist and Tax AVP - DBSI).
Essential Job Functions:
- Preparation of all direct and indirect taxes, TP and SEZ compliances on periodic basis for DBSI.
- Support the team in assessment and litigation.
- Prepare quarterly advance tax computation.
- Supporting statutory audit, tax compliance such Tax audits, Form 3CEB filings etc.
- Co-ordination with other teams on various matters related to tax.
- Assist the tax manager in overall Indirect Tax and Direct Tax related matters.
- Providing tax account reconciliations for closure of statutory audits.
- Ensure all the documentation are properly maintained for the purpose of internal audits.
- Manage Tax controls for DBSI and specific APAC markets.
- Working closely with business/ project teams for tax deliverables/implications for DBSI.
- Working on various projects impacting the future strategy of the indirect tax function.
- Gather information in a timely manner in order to ensure timely completion of compliances.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level.
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department.
- 2 to 4 years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
- 1 to 3 years of Indirect Tax Compliance and Audit experience.
- Should have interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Financial system and excel skills.
- SAP experience.
