Rox is an AI-native B2B revenue intelligence company. We are a Series A startup under active construction. Seven months ago we were just under 60 people. Today we are closing in on 130. We move fast, we ship constantly, and we build with the same AI-native systems we sell to our customers.

About the Team

Talent at Rox has been a team of one. That is about to change.

We are hiring a full-time Rec Ops and Talent Community Lead to own two things most companies leave to chance: the community of engineers and builders around Rox, and the way Rox engineering culture shows up to every candidate. Underneath both, you run the recruiting engine. You report to our Head of Talent, Erin Wilson, and hold the Rec Ops seat on the Talent team.

Recruiting at Rox runs on automation. AI agents and bots handle sourcing, booking, and reporting. You operate them, find where they break, and make them better every week.

Location: This role is based in our San Francisco office. You need to be in the office a minimum of three days a week.

Why This Role Is Community-Specific

This is one of the most visible seats at Rox. You are our face in the AI-native community: the person builders meet at hackathons and meetups, the name behind the technical content they read, and the reason our engineering leads show up at the right events with the right story. Many of the engineers we hire will meet Rox through you first.

We are hiring for community and engineering culture on purpose. This role owns the community of engineers and builders around Rox, maps the AI-native talent market so we know who to meet, and turns how Rox engineers build and hire into programs that scale as we grow. It is a very important job, and it sits at the center of how Rox hires. If you like building systems more than filling calendars, and engineers trust you to tell their story, we'd love to talk.

What You Will Do

  • Be a regular, visible presence in the AI-native scene: hackathons, meetups, and builder events, and the conversations there that turn into hires

  • Build and run the Rox community of engineers and builders: our own events, hackathons, and the people who keep showing up

  • Plan and coordinate our engineering leads' IRL event presence through the year: which events we attend, who goes, what they talk about, and how every conversation gets followed up

  • Own hackathon recruiting at events like Hack the North and HackMIT, from plan and travel to follow-up, with every strong lead in Ashby

  • Run market mapping of AI-native talent and companies: who is building what, where the strongest engineers are, and who we want to hire now and later, kept live in our internal talent graph and community feed

  • Write and coordinate technical blog content with our engineers: pick topics, get posts drafted, edited, and shipped, and package the Rox engineering brand into content that hiring managers and recruiters reuse

  • Run and scale our AI-native recruitment processes for inbound candidates

  • Nurture strong people who are not ready to move yet, so Rox is the first call when they are

  • Stand up alumni and referral networks that send a steady flow of qualified leads

  • Turn how Rox engineers build and hire into repeatable programs: written down, versioned, and easy for any team to run

  • Own the candidate experience from first touch to offer, and measure it

  • Onboard and calibrate interviewers so new interviewers run strong technical phone screens quickly

  • Give decentralized teams a playbook: for roles outside our top hiring priorities, teams hire on their own and calibrate fast, and you make that work without a recruiter in every loop

  • Keep Ashby clean: stages, sources, dispositions, and feedback that match reality

  • Run interview ops: Slack-driven technical phone screen queues and automated booking that move candidates without manual chasing

  • Build dashboards that answer real questions, starting with whether hiring managers meet 6 to 8 qualified leads per strong hire

  • Operate and improve the agent-driven workflows behind sourcing, scheduling, and reporting. If you do it twice by hand, automate it the third time

  • Build and ship internal recruiting tools and automations (Claude, Ashby, Slack, Notion)

  • Represent Rox at events, on calls, and in every candidate touchpoint as a face of the company

  • Get hands-on with the Rox product itself, including regular dogfooding, so you can sell the mission with real conviction

What We Are Looking For

  • Required: Experience in recruiting operations, talent programs, or developer community at a high-growth company. You have built a community or program people chose to join, and you can show the numbers.

  • Plus: Python or JavaScript, Notion and Slack workflow automation, hackathon or campus recruiting, or a background in engineering or developer relations.

  • Engineering fluency, not general recruiting fluency. Engineers trust you to represent how they work. You are technical enough to work with APIs, webhooks, SQL, and scripts, and to debug what an agent did and why.

  • Plugged into the AI-native builder scene. You already show up at AI-native hackathons and meetups in San Francisco, and you know who is building what.

  • Market mapping experience. You have mapped a talent market or a set of companies and turned it into a list people acted on.

  • Operator or player first. You do not wait for a lane to be defined, you build it. You take a problem from blank page to running system without being managed through every step.

  • High-impact outlier. You look for leverage everywhere and you are not precious about title or scope.

  • Amazing human above all. Rox is a small team doing a lot, and how you treat people matters as much as what you ship.

  • Deep ATS experience, ideally Ashby. You have set one up, cleaned one up, or both.

  • Comfort across the full stack of modern recruiting tools: Ashby, Slack, Notion, and AI-native workflows built in Claude.

  • Clear, specific writing. You are comfortable writing and editing technical content, and engineers trust you with their words.

  • A track record of ownership, speed, craftsmanship, and learning velocity, the same bar we hold every candidate to at Rox.

  • Real pull toward Rox specifically. Between two similarly qualified candidates, the one who wants to be here, who has done the homework on the product and the mission, wins. Passion for what we're building is a genuine tiebreaker in this process.

Our Stack

Ashby, Slack, Notion, and a unique set of proprietary ai-native tools. (shhh)

Compensation

Base salary range:$150,000 to $200,000 USD.

A Note on How We Hire
