EllisDon is Canada's largest data centre builder, and our mission critical portfolio is growing fast. The Recruiter, Data Centres will own full-cycle hiring for the project and field teams that deliver these facilities across Western Canada. You will build pipelines before roles open, bring market intelligence to operations leaders, and win talent in a market where owners, consultants and other contractors want the same people. Experience recruiting for complex, large industrial or Mechanical and Electrical construction is key; data centre exposure is a strong asset.
You as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, Data Centres will:
- Own full-cycle recruitment, from intake through offer, for salaried project and field roles on data centre projects, including Construction Managers, Senior Project Managers, General and Senior Superintendents, MEP and Commissioning Managers, Schedulers and Quality Leads and supporting roles.
- Partner with operations leaders to translate project pipelines and award timelines into workforce plans and hiring priorities.
- Build proactive sourcing strategies using LinkedIn Recruiter, talent mapping, referrals, industry associations and direct outreach to passive candidates.
- Screen for mission critical competencies such as commissioning coordination, MEP sequencing, live-environment work and hyperscale or colocation client experience.
- Maintain talent pools for future demand so teams can mobilize quickly when projects are awarded.
- Provide market intelligence on compensation, competitor hiring and talent availability to shape offers and hiring strategy.
- Represent the EllisDon employer brand in the data centre market and support targeted campaigns and events.
- Coordinate with agency partners where needed and hold them to quality and timeline expectations.
- Keep accurate candidate data, dispositions and reporting in Workday and support pay transparency and compliance requirements.
- Deliver a positive, timely candidate experience at every stage.
Is this the right role for you?
- 4 to 7 years of full-cycle recruitment experience in construction, engineering or infrastructure, including complex MEP-heavy projects such as hospitals, labs, pharma, industrial, power or telecom, along with working knowledge of data centre construction (project phases, MEP systems, commissioning and the roles that deliver them). Asset: at least 2 years recruiting for data centre projects.
- A track record of hiring project management and field leadership roles in construction, engineering or infrastructure.
- Strong sourcing skills and comfort engaging passive, in-demand candidates.
- Proven ability to advise hiring leaders with data and market insight
- Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent searches without losing pace or quality.
- Experience with Workday or a comparable ATS; LinkedIn Recruiter proficiency.
